WMS URL with a Drive Letter in

Hi all, I've been asked to read a WMS which starts with a regular looking URL, which then forwards to a URL which is proving difficult. The URL looks as follows -http://<url>.co.uk/WMS/MS/7.2.1/mapserv.exe?map=D:\\Websites\\<service>\\Services\\WMSSHARE\\map\\Layers.map&SERVICE=WMS&VERSION=1.1.1 The part that's giving me trouble is where the D:\\ is. I've tried enclosing the URL in speechmarks and using a pythonCaller to workaround this, but so far I've had no luck. I managed to get the URL changed once, but it just forwards to this one, which is causing issues. Has anyone else experienced something like this?

Removing an FME Server resource folder

Hi.I added 2 new resource folders to FME Server 2020. I simply defined the shared resources by adding the corresponding lines to fmeServerConfig.txt and FmeEngineConfig.txt files, restarted FME Server services and voilà.Now I need to remove one of these resources from FME Server but removing them from the config files and restarting FME Server takes no effect. It still appears in the resource list.Did I miss any step? Is there anything else I should do?Thanks!

Hi There, I am using FME Cloud to translate data into DWG. In the writer settings I provide a folder for the AutoCAD Shape File Folder, which is used in the translation.However the log file also states:No AutoCAD font folder specified. All Text and Multi-Text entities will use the default font file 'default.shx'I expect the writer to use the shx file specified in the AutoCAD Shape File Folder, why is this not happening?

How to split lines at 10m intervals?

Hi I have a road segment line/polyline dataset that I need to split for each segment object into 10m intervals and create a new record. What's the best way to go about this? Thanks in advance Tim

We are working on images projection. We are not using geographic projection but local projection. We have equirectangular projection (cylindric) images and we need to manage a conic projection of these images. Here our parameters : Cylindric : height = 160 m and diameter = 60 mConic : minimum radius = 40 and maximum radius = 60 m Do you know if there are some solutions with FME tools to manage our needs ? Hello Community, Addressing to all FME users for United Kingdom, just wanted to know if someone is using FME for managing Gazetteer data, specially with BS7666 databases, which is the British Standard for Gazetteer data management.

In our Local Authority, we're considering using FME for automating certain actions that are recurrent and would make Gazetteer maintenance more bearable. We already use a Gazetteer software, but we believe that there are actions that could be more automated, and our software doesn't do.We'd like to hear stories and experiences form users that have attempted similar things using FME, or even other ETL solutions such as Python.

...so simple? Just want to select a specific raster (geotiff) value...

I have a GeoTIFF file (real32) with one band(0)Like to extract just the value 0.4 from it.But whatever I try, nothing works out.It's so simple, but I can't see it.... With the RasterExpressionEvaluator I use this expression:@if(A[0]==0.4,0.4,0)The only result I get is : 0Probably because the band only contains RGB values whereas the z-value 0.4 is interpreted? But what then, is the best way to extract this?

Can GeoJSON format handle M-values?

Hi,I need a text based format that can handle measures values for futher treatment in QGIS. Can GeoJSON suitable for this? I currently does not manage to keep the M-values using GeoJSON as Output port and I currently can't determine if I miss some configuration option or if the format does not handle M-values at all.If GeoJSON is not the answer, what file format could I use? I need to handle custom CRS as well (EPSG:2154).Thanks for your help!

Create line from single point and text

HelloI need to create a polyline dataset based on a point dataset which contains a text string. The text attributes also contain the orientation. As I have 1 point for each text feature how can I either :- add another point at the end of the text string and then join the points together to create a polyline, or can I just create a polyline directly from the text string for the correct length and orientation. Any suggestions on how to achieve this would be welcome. Thanks

Find elevation on a line

I need to find the width of many small hill like features. I have the base point on one side, but need to find the matching elevation point on the other side of the line and measure the distance between the two. The data is a series of cross section Shapefile lines draped over las . Points are also Shapefiles Is there a way to search the line to find the same elevation along the line as the base point? Thanks

Setting function attribute while writing Citygml document doesn't work properly. It seams like list attribute problem....

Hi I'm working with FME to write citygml document, I have 3D geometry features with attributes(class, function, usage...etc.) The table above shows the results after passing features to CityGMLGeometrySetter.I want to use them as attributes of citygml document. however When I generate citygml document, Only class attribute was written properly but function attribute doesn't show in the file. this is what i did.generated citygml document I guess I need to change function attribute(just string now) to list attribute because the writer says citygml_function{} required. But not familiar with that. I have know idea what to do next. Please help me doing this!

Hi, I am attempting to sum population for various years based on various areas. Basically group by area 1, area 2, area 3 and get a sum of a projected population for year 1 , year 2, year 3.

Can I do this in one Statistics Calculator OR do I have to use a Statistics Calculator for each year? Thanks,Justin

CSV reader - delimiter not recognized?

Hi,I have multiple CSV files exported by the same application in one export session and with the same delimiter. The CSV reader does recognize delimiter automatically for all but one file. Even when I enter the delimiter at the reader "delimiter character" it is not recognized. I'm wondering what might be different with that file.I noticed all files have UTF-8 encoding but not the one in question. When I convert to UTF-8 (Notepad++) it still doesnt work. I have no idea which other file properties cause that the file being treated differently. I also copied the delimiter character from the CSV file and pasted it to the readers "delimiter character" - still the same.Any ideas what the reason could be? FME 2019. Many thanks, Rob

Any workarounds for FGDB writing and get "The spatial index grid size is invalid" error?

Spend a couple of hours investigating why a single Polyline Feature won't append to an existing FGDB feature class. It turns out because it was very long, the initial spatial index created is too small to manage the number of grids that this long polyline traverses. Never seen this before in a GDB! An error occurred while flushing the cursor for the table/feature class 'LateralsGeometry'. The error number from ArcObjects is: '-2147216894'. Is it possible to create attributes from values and use them without having to manually expose them?

I have a table and I want to build another table from it, e. g.values | types12 | house3 | car4 | boatto:house | car | boat12 | 3 | 4This works with the AttributeCreator (Input: @Value(types) / values), if you check the output with a Logger. However I can't see or use the result in other transformers, unless I expose the fields with the AttributeExposer, which defeats the purpose of the dynamic creation. Is there any way around that? The content of the table changes, so exposing manually is not exactly desirable. There's a custom transformer, AttributeTransposer, but it also requires exposing afterwards.

feature reader: Feature Types to Read: ambiguity

There is both a support ticket and an idea. When reading a large list of drawings from an excel list. you "must" know the entire list of layers you want to read. in the "Features Types to Read:" selection box. Several things are what i consider ambiguous.if you use the cached data selection and select layers from 1 data source (1 drawing only can be selected) and select a layer with a space in it and a layer with no space in it. it returns a text list of the layers with no quotations. however the layer with a spcae will not select any features.If you use the text editor and type your own list of layers and use quotations and commas (like I would do in an esri product) all of the layers with no spaces (and quotations around them) are skipped. If you read the list in a text editor and are trying to identify layers with spaces that need quotations, you are unable to determine which layers have spaces and which layers are simply the next layer in the list. Dynamic Schema: Modify within the workflow without external sources

I am fining new ways to use Dynamic Schemas which are great. However, i do find it challenging to modify the schema especially when creating new attributes and working with Date/Time or float/int as FME defaults to strings. Is there an easy way to force FME to use a particular datatype ( float, int, date, datetime etc) during a translation. I was thinking that the within Attribute creator one could define the data type that is read by the Dynamic writer or use somethink like the SchemaMapper transformer to read and modify attributes instead of an external source. I know that you can dictate the final schema withi the writer, but i dont seem to be able define that before hand.

I have tried to read the autocad_entity : autocad_info in the autocad layer 0 of a Autodesk AutoCAD DWG/DXF reader with the [read drawing system variable to read] checked but it seems to have nothing provide in any of de field.Is anyone know how to get this information?Thanks by advance

Monitoring the health of the server engines ?

Hi list.Is there a best-practice in how to monitor the health of the FME Server engines?I know that if a workspace runs, the engine used must work, but is that a guarantee that it'll work with any workspace?E.g., has there been built some comprehensive testing workspace, that'll test most aspects of an engine?And how can one log that an engine won't start?I've been asked about this in connection with our upcoming launch of our FME Server for production.Cheers.

I am trying to expose IFC attributes based on the ifc_property_set collection of names. The end result should be a feature with only the ifc_property_set attributes exposed on the feature.

As the IFC property sets are configured in other systems i do not have prior knowledge of the attributes to expose these for the writers. I need to be able to feature attribute cleanup so that i can expose these attribute collections without prior knowledge of the feature information.I have successfully exposed the attributes from the collections as a feature attribute but these are still hidden from the writer. How to make Data Streaming Service return XLSX instead of XLS in Content-Type

When I try to create a Data Streaming Service for a workbench creating a XLSX file, the resulting file originating from FME Server is recognized as a XLS file instead of XLSX. Thus, the downloaded file is test.xlsx.xls. How can I guarantee that the file is recognized as XLSX? The content-type returned by FME Server is application/vnd.ms-excel. As far as I can see, this is wrong. It should be application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet?

Is there a possibility of automatically switching from a higher version of .gdb to a lower version of .gdb?

Hello, I have ready procedures to transform from .gdb to .gdb format. They were made for version arcgis 10.4, but now I have version arcgis 10.0 and to work I have to reload the reader and writer. Since this is a lot of reader and writer I would not want to do the procedure again. Is there a possibility of automatically switching from a higher version of .gdb to a lower version of .gdb? S3Connector not working with SSL verification even though a S3 resource exists.

I'm unable to use SSL with the S3Connector on a FME Server that has valid certs to our AWS. The certs are valid because we have successfully added a resource to the same S3 bucket. If I turn off SSL verification in the transformer, it works successfully. What is different with how the S3Connector works? Has anyone ran into this issue and resolved it?FME Server 2019.1Thank-you!Kathy
