I have a dateset of polygons which I know includes some anomalies such as self-intersecting and spikes. I'd like to identify these and if possible count the number of instances of each type in a report. I have tried following the FME guide on self-intersecting polygons but it does not seem to be working as I expected on my dataset. I'm not sure if its my setting in the GeometryValidator transformer or my base data that is at fault. Any guidance would be much appreciated. I'll include some images of the types of issues I'd like to identify along with the workbench I created and some sample data:

Hello, i have problems to write data with the Esri ArcGIS Portal Feature Service Writer.The writer is not able to write the date-values into the date-type-attribute. I've did research in the internet and tried a lot of different date-formats but nothing is working.I've also created a hosted feature layer in Portal for ArcGIS to see how the dates are written when i add features. I cloned that date-format in the workspace but this also failed. Is anyone out there who successfully wrote date-data with the Esri ArcGIS Portal Feature Service Writer or has an approach to solve the problem? I'm using Workbench 2020.2.0.0 (20201027 - Build 20787 - WIN64). Thank you very much! Greetings!

Installing Python Packages to FME Desktop In the PythonCaller script, use the module with this code.from win32com.client import Dispatch This error message appears when run the workspace.Python Exception <ModuleNotFoundError>: No module named 'win32api' I believe that the script is not wrong, since the workspace can be run if I install the module into an external Python interpreter and use it as Custom Python Interpreter for FME. Can you use win32com into with the Python interpreter bundled in FME Desktop?

I have one shapefile with polygons representing a cartographic sheets at some scale. Each polygon has an unique identifier (IDn). I have used SpatialRelator transformer (see attached image) to look for neighbor sheets for each of them, and ListConcatenator to save for each polygon the list of neighbor polygons identifiers.  The attached example shows that selected polygon (ID0) has 3 neighbor polygons (ID1,ID2,ID3). The IDn is the identifier included in the shapefile name located in some directory following this pattern: .\\IDn\\*IDn*.shpI have to merge the 4 shp corresponding to ID0, ID1, ID2, ID3 to output only one shapefile.  I have used Directory and File Pathnames READER in other context but here I don't know how to look for these files. Maybe using WorkspaceRunner or PythonCaller? Please, could you give some advice?  Thank you in advance! 

I am trying to find out if there is a way to label some line features (lets say some streets or rivers) so that when I write HTML file to see directly these labels (like we label features in any GIS Platform e.g. ArcGIS). My solution so far (look the image below but I am not very happy with it): I used "Labeller" Transformer and then "TextStroker" but not very hapy since text stroker gives text outlines which is not very nice to see and therefore I dont have a lot of control over font style, font size etc. Any Idea ? I am using FME 2022.0.0.1.    

I want to simply add a folder with 3 subfolders to an S3 bucket. I'm using the S3Connector transformer and it seems you need a file to Upload to an S3 folder to create a folder, whereas, it seems to me that you can't only add a folder w/o having a file to upload it. I tried adding a csv file to each subfolder to setup my folder structure in S3 and that works to get the main folder w/ 3 subfolders each containing an empty csv file. I then added 3 more S3Connector transformers w/ the Delete option to remove the csv files from each subfolder thinking then I would have the desired folder setup without any files in them. This doesn't work because when you delete the only csv file from the subfolder, it also removes subfolder leaving nothing left in S3. Is there a way to create the desired s3 folder structure without adding a file? Or is it possible to delete the file from the subfolder without removing the subfolder?

I've search quite a bit and can't seem to find an answer. Why would a log file not get created? If anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate it. -Kurt

Hi folks,I am getting some obscure errors (Dropbox API I assume) using the DropboxConnector with bigish files >300 mb.Looking at the error and the Dropbox community I am assuming FME is using the /2/files/upload endpoint which is limited to 300 mb. Can anyone confirm there is an upload size limit with the DropBoxConnector? Workaround?

Hi guys......i have a workflow where i source .xls files out from 3 different folders  e.g. C:\\temp\\PA8\\Lists, C:\\temp\\PA9\\Lists, C:\\temp\\PA7\\Lists and split them (about an specified attribute) into many .xls files into another foldere.g C:\\temp\\PA8\\splits, C:\\temp\\PA9\\splits, C:\\temp\\PA9\\splits and additionaly i copy the source files with the filecopy writer into another foldere.g C:\\temp\\PA8\\done, C:\\temp\\PA9\\done, C:\\temp\\PA9\\done all that is working well!!! BUT i want to empty the source folder after this processing in the same workflow......is this possible.....i have tried the Custom transformer File Deleter but i didnt get it how it works....any solutions or workarounds? Cheers and GreetzFranco

Hi all,I'm encountering an issue while reading from a PostgreSQL DB and trying to write into a AGOL Feature Service. If I run using the FME Desktop 2021.2, the process run perfectly, reading and writing the Feature Service. When uploading the Workspace into FME Server (FME Server 2021.2.3 Build 21812 - linux-x64), and running it, the message is this one: ""2022-7-15 14:15:44 | ArcGIS Online Feature Service Writer: Feature Service 'xxx_layer' does not support writer mode ''. Its owner may have disabled inserting or editing features. Writes may fail if the current user is not the owner or administrator""Although telling me the correct of the Features were written. From AGOL, I've checked that is ENABLED the edition on features. Also, the FME Server has correctly Authorized. Is there something that I'm not having into account?Thanks,  

I have DGN file. In Microstation I can see that it had a defined GCS (ETRS89 / UTM zone 32N) When I read the file with FME the coordinate system is not recognised. How do I get FME to read the GCS details?

Hi there, Thanks in advance for your help. It's my first time using FME server and setting up an app. I want the end user to be able to upload a folder full of shapefiles or gpx files. In Desktop, I have the parameters set up so the user can upload folders and the subfolders within it. I can't find this option in server. I see I can upload one file at a time, but that's not what I want. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I want to capture all this info in the folder structure:OperationName>Fieldworkername1>All the gpx and shapefilesOperationName>Fieldworkername2>All the gpx and shapefilesOperationName>Fieldworkername3>All the gpx and shapefiles 

Hi, I am creating contour lines and contour polygons from a raster geotiff file with 50m intervals. In lowland areas near the sea a lot of tiny lines/polygons are created wherever the elevation fluctuates around value 0-m. GDAL has a parameter (Offset from zero relative to which to interpret intervals) which allows setting an offset so as to reflect only significant low elevations (by setting it to -5 for instance). However this parameter is not present in the ContourGenerator transformer of FME.Can you think of a workaround for simulating such behavior? Otherwise is it easy to call the GDAL function from within FME?Thank you! Best regards, Olivier

I have a workbench that takes a zip file as a user input and checks if it contains a shapfile. If it does, it goes to a FeatureReader and then on to a shapefile writer.  I have tried every setting I can, but I can't get it to generate an output shapefile if the shapefile writer is set to use a Dynamic Schema Definition Am I missing something, or is this just not possible? The log says the workbench ran successfully, but no shapefile was created: > Translation was SUCCESSFUL with 9 warning(s) (353 feature(s) output)>FME Session Duration: 3.1 seconds. (CPU: 0.6s user, 0.8s system)>END - ProcessID: 940, peak process memory usage: 116280 kB, current process memory usage: 111672 kB>Translation was SUCCESSFUL Ultimately, I'd like to publish an enhanced version of this to FME Server and create an app so that colleagues can upload zipped shapefiles and have convert their data to different coordinate system. Greetings,I have a Feature Reader transformer, reading a list of dwgs. Sometime after I initially created the Feature Reader I needed to expose additional attributes, and so did by adding to this list......however, the newly exposed attributes are not showing up in my output ports. I'm not seeing the Feature Reader in the 'Update Readers' command, so am not sure exactly how to get the newly exposed attributes exposed. Any pointers would be appreciated.TylerFME WorkBench 2021

I have polygons (closed polylines) that I want to buffer a fixed distance, removing any overlaps. Each Polygon has a unique ID and they need to remain individuals.Below and attached are starting polygonsAnd shown in red is what we want to achieve.I've tried an array of Buffer/AreaOnAreaOverlays/Dissolvers, but I cant quite get what's needed and keep ending up with holes and artifacts.Any ideas?I've attached the road strings i'm buffering towards, incase that is useful

i have lines and i have polygon my question that i would like to find which line intersects with polygon and which lines crosses with polygonso i have transformed polygon to lines by geometry coercer then i used spatial filter ,predicate crosses and another time i used spatial filter with predicate intersect but i have found that the output in passed port even if i have chosen predicate cross or intersect ,i get this line in output why did this line appear when i choose predicate intersect ,because no intersection point between line and polygon . i would like to have it only when i use predicate cross .i hope someone has idea for me   FME 2020

Hey! I have a a road network that is split into several features. They represent different values of the road. Example: 1 layer describe surface and another width. So the length of each line in the layers differ from eachother. I would like to merge these together and i wonder if anyone have a solution?  So far I've tried to Take the endpoints from all the lines. Bunched them together and then used them in one PointonLineOverlayer for each Line Feature to split all Lines at the same spot. Now I'm unsure on how to join all the features to 1 Line features with all the attributes i want.  Example Picture:  

On my fme server is a workspace for download which I can start with a webhook. I want to use that webhook in a Python Script. Are there any examples for calling the webhook and receiving the data in python? Best regards Gerhard

Hello everyone! I'm new FME-User and this is my second month of learning FME. I've been fooling around mainly with maps (TIFF,JP2000) and Lidar. I'd like to build a 3D-Model from a part of a forest where I add tree.obj for each tree in a raster. I'm trying to build a tree detector that makes a shapefile of the border of the trees and maybe make a list of the trees in the forest. So far I've tried this, this is probably really painful to watch :D.TestFilter that detects brightest parts of the forest(tree tops), then second brightest spots and third brightest etc..Then I start clipping with buffered detected spots from dark part to the brightest parts and in the end of the clippin' I have really messy tree tops marked on raster..And this doesn't really solve the original problem at all of making a shapefile for an each tree of the forest :D So I figured that better approach might be something like this.Spot the brightest tree tops --> Mark the tree top --&g
