IFC to IFC conversion while modyfing and/or adding properties

Hi!I am familiar with the consept of reading IFC and writing IFC in FME. I also have successfully created a workspace that can read various geometry formats and write to IFC with custom propertysets. Now I'm trying to create a workspace that can read IFC, modify or add propertysets and write back to IFC without breaking the structure of the IFC file. For example, I have a IFC with slabs. I want to add some propertysets to the slabs and write it back to slabs. I have seen the example where you can modify properties for spaces, but I'm having problems applying the workflows to IFC. All in all I think FME has potential for improvement in handling IFC-files in an intuitive way. Does anyone have any good examples of workflows for the described purpose that can be shared?

Hi. I would like to know how to add off set value of location into the workspace. I have an workspace to convert file from .Rvt to .tileset (.b3dm) and .Geojson.

Coordinate system setter is in the workspace, so I can select local coordinate, but I want to add offset value in somewhere in the workspace. Please kindly let me know how to add off set value (Latitude shift, Longitude shift, and height shift). Thank you.

Server Application that processes an excel spreadsheet fails on larger spreadsheets with a 404 error.

I have a Server App with that converts coordinates in a Excel spreadsheet. I followed the Article:HTML Page with Link to Download Excel File - FME Server App (safe.com)And it works really well with small files but falls over with a 404 error with large spreadsheets. The workbench works fine on desktop, within Server & as an App without the webhook.Would anyone have any suggestions about what the issue maybe?

What is/are the default (X,Y) coordinate order conventions in FME (particularly in relation to the 'Lat/Long vs Long/Lat discussion')?

Like described in the header, In short I'm wondering what the default (X,Y) coordinate order conventions are in FME (particularly in relation to the 'Lat/Long vs Long/Lat discussion')? Reason/motivation of the questionThe reason I'm asking is that in quite some workspaces I prompt users to enter an extent for a particular area (mainly to filter out data for the user defined area). Recently a user asked me if it was possible to incorporate an option to also allow the input extent to be entered by means of explicit Bounding Box (BBOX) coordinates in the form of a specific envelope, i.e. to enter both the (Xmin, Ymin) AND the (Xmax, Ymax) coordinates.Of course these explicit coordinates are meaningless without knowing how to interpret them (i.e. without knowing the underlying coordinate system). In the Netherlands it turns out that the vast majority of spatial files make use of the 'RDNew coordinate system' (EPSG:28992). However, I also wanted to give users the opt

Trying to remove the editor tracking fields. I can, run to, in Attribute manager and see the fields removed but in the File GDB preview, I still see them.

Cannot Uninstall FME

Hi I am trying to uninstall FME (2020.002) using Windows Add/Remove Programs. However, it just hangs on 'Gathering Information'. This is the second time I have tried - first time I left it for 24hours and no progress. Anyone go any ideas how I can remove it completely?

Custom format of version 2017.x (32-bit) not working when saved with 2022.1 (64-bit) version. Enclosed the custom format of version 2017.x for your reference. Above screenshot shows the v2017 custom format when consumed as Workspace Resource in FME Desktop v2022.1. How to choose the coordinate system in the OGC-API feature reader.

I am testing the OGCAPI of the Norwegian Mapping Authority (https://ogcapitest.kartverket.no/rest/services/havnedata/collections). It provides five different coordinate reference systems. http://www.opengis.net/def/crs/OGC/1.3/CRS84http://www.opengis.net/def/crs/EPSG/0/5973http://www.opengis.net/def/crs/EPSG/0/25833http://www.opengis.net/def/crs/EPSG/0/4326http://www.opengis.net/def/crs/EPSG/0/3857 The OGC API – Features Quick Facts suggests that the OGCAPI feature reader supports coordinate systems. The reader seems to default to WGS84. How can I choose a diffrent CRS in the OGC-API reader? The call would be like "http://www.opengis.net/def/crs/EPSG/0/5973&limit=2" alt="https://ogcapitest.kartverket.no/rest/services/havnedata/collections/fender/items?crs=https://ogcapitest.kartverket.no/rest/services/havnedata/collections/fender/items?crs=http://www.opengis.net/def/crs/EPSG/0/5973" ... but how can one provide the crs information in the reader? We are using FME 2021 and planning to bump postgres version to 14.Are there known issues with that combination?I have tried to find a compatibility sheet for FME Desktop/Server and Postgres and/or other Software, but did not succeed.

How to read texts from dwg file which is associated with SHX font

Hi,I am having a large set of DWG files in which all the texts are referenced to a native Autocad font file called XARB.SHX, when I try to read it through FME desktop the fme_text_string shows something which is unrecognizable as FME is referring windows fonts.I am unable to read the autocad (XARB) style applied to the text in dwg file.It will be very helpful If anyone can suggest me some workaround.Thanks in advance.IMRAN

I have state name and county name as input parameters. I need to use state name as first input and then filter county name list to provide based input selection for county name. I checked Parameter Manager and cannot find a way to do this

Conditional database connection parameter

Hello,I have a number of Workspaces that are run by colleagues using FME Server. These typically connect to a database, do some stuff, and create file-based output. The can run on three different environments, and because of that the database but also the output directory should be different. Right now I allow for that by using a database connection parameter and an output path parameter. It is to easy though to set one and forget the other, so that Production output ends up in a Test directory (or the other way around). Is it somehow possible to have a single Choice-Parameter, that influences which database connection is selected in the database connection parameter? I know I can use the ${} notation, but that does not see to work for a database connection.

How to control appearance of cesium 3D tiles. Specifically, edging and shading.

This image of my output display on a CesiumJS website demonstrates where I am up to. I am trying to convert GDB multipatch to C3DT.I can control colour through either geometrycoloursetter or appearancesetter but I cannot figure out how to prevent dark shading on top of models nor create defined edges to accentuate the geometry.I want the edges to look like this:

How do I lock the bounding box of the Graphics View?

My project covers the whole state of NSW, and the workspace has many many transformers. What I want to know is how to lock the bounding box of the map in the Graphics View. If I'm debugging one particular area of interest, the map jumps to some sort of saved view for each and every transformer. I spend the day zooming and panning the map to get back to my area of interest. I click another transformer to see what the data was doing at that point. then have to zoom and pan again to get back to my area of interest. What I want to do is lock the Graphics View to my area of interest. I can see the hover for "2D" button is "Lock the current view in 2D", but it doesn't lock anything consistently. Sometimes it even centres the map on another state where there is no data. Other times it drops me in the ocean and I have to zoom out until I see land, pan, and zoom in again. Is it possible to keep the bounding box of the map in the Graphics View fixed?

Populate User Parameter choice dropdown from sql server query dynamically.

I would like to be able to populate a user parameter dropdown choice list from the results of a sql query and/or stored proc every time the workbench is run. As in, the dropdown choices need to always be able to reflect the database results every time. This seems unusually difficult to do. I need the dropdown to always reflect whatever the latest values in the database are, every time the workbench is called. Using Workbench 2021.2.1.0 (20211203 - Build 21797 - WIN64) Any help is greatly appreciated.

Exporting to DWG w/ object data is writing empty layers

Hey there,So i've modified the Data Downloading script on FME Server and am having some issues exporting to a dwg with object data. The script lets them pick from a tree list what to download and then export to DWG and it completes fine but the issue is if I only download one layer, say contours, its including every single feature class as a layer in the DWG even tho its empty. I can see it creating object data during the FeatureWriter process. Is there an option to not include layers if they're empty im not seeing? thanks for any help.

If I set up azure ad in Authentication Services, will I be able to read and write from an external azure fileshare which use azure ad authentication?

I wonder if I setup azure ad authentication service on my FME Cloud instance, would I be able to read and write drirectly from a azure fileshare? sourceFile //xxx.file.core.windows.net/yyy/source.extdestinationFile //xxx.file.core.windows.net/yyy/destination.ext Is this a common thing?

Is there a better method to update my data into ArcGIS Online?

Hello,I wish to copy polygon data from SQL DB to ArcGIS Online. The only way I have found that seems to work is in attached image. Having to delete the data before I can insert the update seems incorrect albeit appears to work.I assume there is a better way?Thank you

How to move a file to a file share without needing a subfolder?

When using the FeatureWriter, it wants me to provide a subfolder. I cannot leave it blank. I need to be able to write the file to the root of the file share. I am doing a move and not a copy. any thoughts?

I have excel file where i need to separate all columns please help me out
