Hi, I am doing a fanout in writer for a csv file based on an attribute, say CSV_NAME. What I am getting is new folders with the name as CSV_NAME under which one .csv file is present with name as CSV_NAME. What I need is that all my .csv files should be present under a single directory. Is that doable? Any pointers?

I am using LineJoiner to merger street segments together based on the attribute STREET. Each segment contains STREET, FROM_STREET and TO_STREET and a SEQUENCE. I have ordered them by Sequence before the LineJoiner transformer and now I want to extract the FROM_STREET and TO_STREET for the merged segments. I renamed ROAD{0}.FROM_STREET to FROM_STREET, and that works fine. But how do I tell the List Element Selection to be the last element? It won't take -1 or any non-number or _element_count. Is there another way to do this? Ideally I would like it to be something simple like ROAD{MAX}.TO_STREET.

Hello all,I am trying to load a data set from an excel file to our organization's Socrata data portal using FME Desktop 2015.1 and have run into an issue with the address field that Socrata uses for geocoding. Some of the addresses in this data set that I am trying to load have addresses like "NE 19TH ST" when the field will only accept valid addresses like "0 NE 19TH ST". I have tried to just find "NE" and replace it with "0 NE" but it tries to replace all the addresses that might have a "NE" in them.What I would like to do is search in the address field where the first two positions in the string begin with "NE" then where the records start with "NE" I would like to replace that with "0 NE" leaving the rest of the address intact. The end result would ideally look like this: 0 NE 19TH STThis is a little cumbersome so a more elegant solution is welcome!Thank you in advance :)

I am translating data from a SDE database to a file gdb. For some reason there seems to be a second copy of all my attributes (the upper case attributes in the attached image). I can not access these attributes to remove them. Several of the attributes are dates, I used the date formater to change the format of the date. Unfortunatly the dupliacte attributes aren't getting reformated and are causing an error in the writer. I have never seen an error like this and don't know where to start. Any Ideas?

I have two very large sets of files from 2 different years that I need to compare with each other. I already have a workspace set up that currently performs the comparison and gives me the desired results. Reader_1 in the workspace takes a file from the year_2013 set and Reader_2 takes the corresponding file from the year_2014 setReader_1 - file_ABC_year_2013.tifReader_2 - file_ABC_year_2014.tifWhat I need to do now is run the process as a batch job on all of the data so that each file from year_2013 is processed with the corresponding file from year_2014. The two sets of data contain exactly the same number of files and share a naming convention with the year appended to the end of the file name.Do I create a csv file that lists all of the files from year_2013 and the corresponding files from year_2014? I have a single KML file that I am trying to use fanout based on "name" field to new separate KML files for either polyline from the original file. When I turn fanout to yes I will get .KMZ's for every file. Is there something I'm missing that I can set to force KML's and not KMZ's?

I try to write multiple Raster images to a single PostGis table. Writing the records sequentially is working as designed.But I am using FME Cloud and want to write records parallel using multiple engines. The first record is written, but seems to lock the table. Therefor all other processes fail.How can I avoid the table lock in PostGis?Any suggestions?

Hi,I'm reading many LAS files in a workbench (FME 2015.1.2.1, 64 bits) and I don't undestand why I have this line in my log file for each of my LAS file:PointCloudThinner: Thinning point cloud from 2366939 point(s) to 50000 point(s)I don't use any pointcloudthinner in my workbench but it runs like if FME automatically reduce the number of point of my LAS file. If this is true, how can I control the parameter of that thinner?Thank youJulien

Is it possible to make user parameters some way into workspace parameters so each workbench I create I don't have to re-create the same parameter. I can just grab them and go. (ex Database log in parameters).I create drop down choice multiple parameters sopeople can just select what they want in FME server.I want to know if I can make these universal so I dont have to create new ones on each work bench

Hello Everyone,I have several readers & writers, I want to restrict the attributes of shape file based on excel file (other reader).Eg: I have shape file with 25 attributes, out of which I may require 10 attributes for translation. As of now I'm using attributekeeper after reader to restrict the attributes which are not required.For further explanation, whatever the attribute names I pass through the excel file only those attributes have to be passed from shape file.Note: Excel file contains only attribute headersIs there a way to perform this???Thank you

I have a publication in FME Server that monitors a directory and sends a message to a topic when the contents of the directory change - for example, when a file gets updated. Hi,   I am looking for a way to obtain the FME TEMP directory. As far as I know, FME defines the TEMP directory based on 4 characteristics [1]. My question is: Using a C++ reader, can I get the path currently used as temp directory?  Something similar to:  fmeSession_->fmeHome() returns the home directory of the FME ? returns the TEMP directory of the FME.   Of course, I could try to read in the TEMP environment variable by myself (stored in Control Panel | System | Advanced | Environment Variables). But I think using FME for this would be a better solution.   Thanks ben  [1] FME TEMP variable 

I have an attribute value of the form: 1,2,3,4,...  I would like to split the attribute into separate values, using the comma as the delimiter.  I know I can do this with the AttributeSplitter but how do I get at the resultant parts? All of the examples that I've seen tell me to expose the attributes (right-click -> expose elements) which is fine if you know how many elements there are in the list but not if you dont know. I could have hundreds of elements...  The ListExploder doesn't work because the list doesn't have any attributes in it, just values.  I could write a Python script to do what I need but there must be an easier way? 

So I am trying to read from a database and then take only the data I need and create and write to a file geodatabase. When I try the file geodatabase api writer all I have to select a .gdb file. Is it possible to just create it as well in FME so I can just tell FME to save to a certain folder where I want these GBD files at.

Hi,We're trying to disolve overlapping polygon features but only if the overlap area is larger than set amount. The features are buffered lines and we only want to dissolve those that share an underlying line segment. The ones that are perpundicular have to be excluded. Is it possible to put a predicate on a dissolver? Or is there any method possible? Thanks in advance,Tom
