How do I read the number of records produced from a transformer and use that number in a Cloner Transformer (not directly connected)?I can grab the number via the Statistics Transformer. However I cannot set the number in the Cloner. Ideally I would add the number as an attribute for all records (in the data going into the Cloner). However I cannot work out how to do this. Note that I am dealing with 2 completely different sets of data here. The first has the record count. The other data set I want to clone based on the firsts record count.Thanks for any help I can get.

Hi, I have a list of HTML files that contain tables and I want to convert those files to XML format.I tried using a text file reader with HTMLToXHTMLConverter and XML writer. I also attempted HTMLToXHTMLConverter with creator and XML writer but didn't get the desired o/p. Is there some other way out for it? Or I am using different parameters?

My minecraft output looks like it's all one height and one colour, comparing it to the BowenIsland output, it should have multiple colours for multiple blocks and heights of trees, etc apparent. Where is my model going wrong? I used the FMW workspace and data as obtained from https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/1064/how-to-ma... and replaced the inputs with my prepared shapefiles and DEM. It should be seemless.

Hi FME-users,How to check the spatial relationship between a line and polygon with a Pythoncaller transformer ?I'm calculating the longest possible line inside a polygon feature that has a certain orientation and that does not intersect with the geometry of the polygon itself. First I calculated all possible lines, their distances and orientation between all vertices of the polygon feature. Next I want to retrieve the longest line that is completely situated within the polygon and that has a certain orientation.Therefore I need to check the spatial relationship, i.e. does the line intersect with the polygon?I want to perform this calculation completely within python (PythonCaller) without using external libraries.Thanks in advance, Dries Verdoodt

Not long ago I asked following question: "I have a dataset of different lines and I create a new line with the "Creator". Now I want to test wether the crated line allready exists in my dataset. If the line doesn't allready exists, I want to edit the existing data and the new line separatly.I tried to use the "Matcher". I am trying to create two offset lines from the original line that will be parallel and have parallel vertices from beginning to end. The Offsetter does not do this nor does the OffsetCurveGenerator, AnchoredSnapper combination do this. If I can't figure out how to do this in FME then I will perform this in Oracle Spatial. Here are the steps I will take in that case:1.) Generate segmented lines from the original line split at each vertex point.2.) Determine the line direction (angle) of every segment.3.) Rotate each segment 90 degrees from each forward vertex.4.) Extend each rotated segment so that they are long enough to apply vertices at offset distance on each side of original line..5.) Add vertices on both sides of rotated segments at the offset distance for each side.6.) Connect the vertices on each side of the original line to create two new parallel lines.If there is a way to do this in FME that I have not figured out, please let me know.ThanksDan

Morning All, I have 4 lines, (A,B,C,D) all connected together in a straight line (like a piece of uncooked spaghetti). Its trivial to establish that A is connected to B, B to C and C to D. How do i establish that A is connected to C and D ? i have tried using the network topology tools to work out that all the segments are on the same network graph but ran out of ideas ( this isn't my preferred approach anyway). Are there any others ways/suggestions/techniques is should think about. Can FME iterate thru objects? ie spatial relate A to B, then B to C then pass this info back to A ? Using a JSONFormatter (pretty) and JSON Writer in series, the output file contains literally the characters \\r\\n with no actual line returns. Hello world,Okay so I have a layer of highway resurfacing schemes, every scheme is represented by a polygon and contains the usual attributes including a USRN (unique street reference number). I also have a polyline dataset of highway centerlines, every centerline has a USRN. If I cut the highway centerline dataset using the clipper transformer using the polygon dataset as the clipper, outputs a clipped line dataset with the merged attributes. As centerlines from intersecting roads are also included I can exclude these by a simple query where USRN <> clipped_USRN and run a total length calculation.However the polygons from the highway resurfacing scheme layer overlaps in places and the clipper only outputs a single level i.e. it doesn't stack/duplicate lines (one for each scheme) and the merged attributes contains only the details from one scheme. Anybody have the solution to this problem? I've tried tweaking the parameters and tried pushing the clipped centerline files

Hey everyone I wasn't sure where to post this as I thought it may be a bug.I'm running FME Desktop 2016.0.0.0 Build 16167 - WIN64I have a workbench that takes in multiple rasters, does some reclassifying and then some raster maths by adding them together.When it gets to the writing stage, the process fails with this error message: GEOTIFF writer: Failed to process a band with interpretation 'INT32' with the number of bits per cell set to '4'. The band bit depth must be the minimum value of (8, 16, 32) that is greater than or equal to the specified bits per cell. For example: to write 1-bit data the band interpretation should be 8-bit; to write 12-bit data the band interpretation should be 16-bit; to write 19-bit data the band interpretation should be 32-bitA fatal error has occurred. Check the logfile above for detailsI have gone into the advanced parameters of the geotiff writer and set the bits per cell to 32 but it still attempts to write at 4 bit.I think t

I'm reading in a shape file of points and an ECW image. I then create buffers around each point and clip the ECW using those buffers. I then write the clipped rasters out as individual ECW images. I'd like the ECW files to be named using an attribute from the shapefile (e.g. ID). When I set the fanout options and choose the attribute in the writer the transformation fails with the following error:ECW writer: ECW driver does not support creating ECW files with an extension other than .ecwHow can this be done?

I want to create rasters from vector data. I've used ImageRasterizer and set background color into white, then write data as geotif with 8BiitsPerCell parameter. Finally got 24bit raster with 16,7milions colors but I need 256 color raster with black color on 0 index palette position, and white(background) on 255.

I need to create an alias on a couple attributes in my workspace. They do not have aliases when they are read in but they need to have them when they are written to a different layer. I am reading and writing into a Esri Geodatabase (ArcSDE Geodb). I am pretty sure I can do this with the AttributeManager but am unsure how.

Thought this would be easy, but we are struggling to assign a newly created attribute with row numbers that indicate its sequence in the set.

The log entry is "FACTORY_NAME Router and Unexpected Input Remover COMMAND_PARM_EVALUATION SINGLE_PASS MULTI_READER_KEYWORD SDE30_1 ..." Which looks like a call to the reader but I have no idea why the parameters generated by the task scheduler would be different than those built by the workbench

Using the DuplicateRemover doesn't give me the results that I want.  This is what I need. I have a field that needs to be unique (FiledB) and it's associated with another field (FieldA). A1A 2A3A4B1B3B4B5C5C6What I should be getting for result is: A1, B5 and C6.   The result that I get with the RemoveDuplicate by selecting only the FieldB as the unique, or both fileds, doesn't give me this.Any suggestions?

Hi,I can't find fanout in FME 2015.I have to create different shpfiles based on a attribute and write them to a zip file with the name of that attribute.

I'm using FME Desktop 2014 sp2. I want to reproject the X,Y coordinates of a point feature type (mapinfo, in NAD83) into the appropriate NAD83 MTM projection. I have an attribute named "ZONE_MTM" (string) that gives me the MTM zone a need to reproject in. However, when I use the "AttributeReprojector" transformer and, inside it, use a conditional value, I systematically get an "invalid test expression"! I have tried forcing a "string" or a "number" comparison (instead of the "automatic" comparison). I have also tried using "begins with" but I still get the error.
