FME 2017.0.0.0I try to use StringReplacer to uppercase letters to lowercase letters, but failed. Attribute:attr (has a value "ABCD") Mode:Realace Regular Expression Text To Replace:([A-Z]) Replacement Text:@LowerCase(\\1)I also tried the @UpperCase,@Format,@PadLeft,@PadRight..., but those function seems does not work for regular expression groups (\\1) too.String functions cannot be used in a regular expression group?

HiI'm having trouble using connections to SQL Server since upgrading FME server to 2017. I'd like to use windows authentication, and got this working on 2016.1 by changing the account that one of the FME services ran as (using a service account), and giving that service account access to my database. I've tried this in 2017 and it doesn't seem to work - it stops various parts of FME Server from working properlyAlso I can't seem to find any documentation for FME Server 2017. Is there any?ThanksAdam

Hello,Im new to FME, I can't find the solution to this problem in the knowledge base.Im trying to count the purple horizontal lines in the picture as following: 5, 10, 15, 25 etc. I think this can be achieved with the counter transformer.But when the underlying vertical line feature changes the counter has to reset. Any advice would be of great help.

Hi,I´m trying to extract data using an ArcGIS Server Feature service reader which is going okay. For some of the layers I´m getting the following error:Python Exception <UnicodeDecodeError>: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xe5 in position 10: ordinal not in range(128)I´m guessing the problem relates to some characters in the tabel of the layer which can´t be read by the ArcGIS reader? Or could the problem relates to the transformer being programmed in Python 2 instead of Python 3 (which i´ve been told is handling encoding-problems better)?I only need the geometries (and the layer names), so is there a way for me just to be able to read the those?If that´s not possible is there a way for me to encode the tables so that I wont get the error-message?Thanks in advance :) Christian

Hi - I'm reading in one Esri File Geodatabase using the ArcObjects Reader (not the open source API reader) and writing out another with a subset of the data in it. The Writer uses a 'Reader as a Resource' to control the schema dynamically and also uses an empty Geodatabase with the same schema as a template file, to ensure that featureclasses that are sent no features by FME still exist (but are empty) in the exported FGDB.My problem is that I am getting a warning that I can't engineer out of the process:WARN  |User field name 'OBJECTID' conflicts with value of feature type parameter 'Object ID Field' ('OBJECTID') for table/feature class 'd_y_n59'.  User field will be ignoredThis appears for every featureclass I'm trying to write, so 105.I know that the incoming data has the OBJECTID and I know that the FGDB needs to create it. On my dynamic writer the FeatureType sets the field and the alias to 'OBJECTID' by default. I'm pretty confident that the result is good, even with the warnings

Hi,I'm writing data to a MySQL (non-spatial) database and have some problems getting datetime fields filled. Checking a sample table in phpMyAdmin shows the date format to be ^Y-^m-^d ^H:^M:^S, e.g. 2017-02-28 13:09:00, so I've set up my TimeStamper to output that. But when I write to the database it fails every feature with a message saying it's an invalid format.If I enter the same value directly through phpMyAdmin it's accepted.Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

My goal is to split lines when there is a point within a tolerance (i.e. 20ft) but NOT at intersections (they are already split at intersections. I've been using the PointOnLineOverlayer which works great everywhere except at intersections since the points are close to the intersection but not at them. Here's an image to try and explain the situation:Any thoughts on how I can ignore the points near the intersections when splitting?

I’m trying to create an FME process that reads a FGDB andwrites the data to an Esri registered feature class stored in an Oracledatabase. I have issues in finding the proper way of doing it using the OracleSpatial Object writer. The trouble is caused by the OBJECTID: how to populateit?I’vetried using an SQL statement (Overrides Feature Operation) like INSERT INTO FEATURE_CLASS (OBJECTID, COL1, COL2) VALUES(sde.gdb_util.next_rowid('OWNER', 'FEATURE_CLASS'),:COL1, :COL2)With this approach the OBJECTID column gets populated but I’mfailing in writing the geometry (the geometry in Oracle is stored asSDO_GEOMETRY). As a workaround I’ve defined another process using the same writerto update the geometry column only (Feature Operation = Updated instead ofusing the SQL Statement Overrides Feature Operation option).Is there a way of doing this in one step only?I know it can be done by using Esri Geodatabase (ArcSDEGeodb) writer but for some reason the process takes about 20 minutes incomparison 

Hallo!I'm curious if and how it is possible to assigne max/min extents which come from the "BoundsExtractor" to the search envelope of multiple data readers.The first step of the workbench is to make a buffer around an area. This buffer is extended to the max min boundaries with the "BoundingBoxReplacer. This generated square is used to clip different input sources on the area inside the bounding box.Because it's quite an amount of data, i'd like to preselect the region with an search envelope so that not all data has to be loaded to be clipped.Is it possible inside one workbench to generat the min/max extents and hand it over to the search envelope of other readers?I've tried to assigne the values as private parameter, but this seems to late for the reading process of the input sources. Thanks in advance! Mark

Hello,I am trying out how IfcSpace elements in Building Information Models can be transformed to 3D geometry in PostGIS. I have made a simple building model in Revit in which a few spaces are defined. The model is exported to an IFC file. When I open the IFC file in an IFC viewer (Solibri) I see the spaces and they can be drawn on screen as 3D geometries. So somehow it is possible to derive 3D geometries from the IFC file. However, if I do a (default) translation from the IFC file to PostGIS, I see no geometry for the spaces being created. All space have the same geometry value (in WKT): GEOMETRYCOLLECTION(GEOMETRYCOLLECTION(GEOMETRYCOLLECTION EMPTY)).Is it possible to transform IfcSpaces to 3D geometries or even 2D geometries in FME?

Using version 2016.1.3.2In https://desktopmanualbasic.safe.com/DesktopBasic1Basics/1.Exercise3.html, there is some exercise showing how to inspect data from two different layers.Layer 1: a kml file (CRS: LL84)Layer 2: a MapInfo TAB (CRS: UTM83-10)In the exercise, the data inspector can handle the data with different CRS (there is a print showing the two layers mashup). (the data is available here: https://www.safe.com/training/recorded/fme-desktop-2016/)But if i try to do the same using version 2016.1.3.2, the data inspector draw the two layers but don't transform the coordinates (in the status bar is show the message "Multiple Coordinate Systems").Is some configuration necessary for the data inspector transform coordinates? Or the data inspector can not deal with layers with different crs?
