Just want to convert from string containing fractional numbers (e.g., 4 1/2 2 7/8...to decimal doubles 4.52.875...Anyway to not use multiple transformers for this? ( I know I can separate the fraction from the whole number, then value map the fractional segment to decimal segments, and then patch the number back together via concatenation...). However, I thought I'd check to see if I'm missing something less bulky.Many thanks, Pete

Hi,I have a TXT file (point cloud) containing 2 columns col1=X and col2=Y.I want to create groups every 1cm (according to X axis) and compute for each group Xmean, Ymean, Ymin and Ymax.I think it is necessary to create a point cloud and then create slice of points (every 1cm) but I don't know how to do this.Thank you for your help.

I have a raster dataset stored in a file geodatabase and when I read this into a workbench the nodata bit masks for each band are merged into a single additional alpha band named geodb_nodata as default and stated in the help documentation.When I view the grid in the inspector Band 0 contains data values and a value of 0 or -3.40282e+38 for nodata cells. Band 1 (ALPHA8): geodb_nodata contains a value of 0 for nodata and 255 for cells containing data. My question is how can I set the values in Band 0 as nodata using Band 1 (ALPHA8)? I assume it's a combination of using the RasterSelector with the RasterBandNodataSetter transformers, but no combination has worked for me so far.Specifically, I want to set the values in Band 0 to nodata using Band 1 and then sending the output to a RasterCellCoercer transformer to create points for all raster cells containing a value i.e. excluding nodata cells.Thanks

Right now I test if MTF (manged file transfer site) or UNC file location are going to pass, because what's the point of proceeding if network IT services are not available for file storage. If I terminate I'll have the find failed email and manually resend to FME Server. Is this possible for FME Server to hold the job and resubmit in an hour instead of just terminating?

I am using FME to convert ESRI Raster Dataset orthophotos to an .ecw file and there are some very ugly black pixels added to the border.

Im simply trying to get fme to use FileCopy (so that I can copy csv files inside a large zip file (about 4 gigs)) to a network folder. I only used a reader with format set to CSV, dataset set to the path of the zip file, and workflow options set to Individual (connected to filecopy writer). Are there any issues with fme and large zip files? Is there a better method to extracting a specific file type from the zip than what I used? I want to aggregate or dissolve a set of input polygons based on 3 fields - Authority, Category, Site_Name. So where these values are the same, there should be one output feature. If the polygons are not adjacent, a muti-part feature should be output (File Geodatabase). If they are adjacent, then I expect them to be merged. However this is not happening. I've tried both Aggregator and Dissolver, individually and together. The boundaries may not be shared, but I believe the polygons overlap, so why aren't they being merged?In the attached image, the blue fill is the input, and the hatching is the aggregated/dissolved polygons.Also, there are 2 blue polygons on top of each other in the middle, but in the output there's no polygon visible.

Hi,I have a workspace that makes an initial SQL database call to write to a table that generates an id key that subsequent database writers require. The problem is that the initial call doesn't seem to close/finish writing before the subsequent calls look for the id key. I have placed a feature holder before the subsequent calls but if the records fall below a certain number the process fails (and the initial table is not populated). Over a certain number or records the process is fine. Any ideas?Thanks!Sam

Is it possible to do a substring(0,10) with the BulkAttributeRenamer? I want to simulate truncating the columns as writing to shape does. I know I can do this with a SchemaMapper, this is my current workaround.

I have a Condition Statement within AttributeManager that checks if an attribute has a letter at the end of the value. If this is true then I use Substring to drop the last character.However, when I use the above it always returns the original value (ex. 999a returns 999a instead of 999).It does not seem to work with any negative number at the end but if I change -2 to a positive number like 3 it works and returns 999. Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong here?Regards

I am using a Condition Statement in the AttributeManager to check if the attribute ends with a letter. Using [a-z] does not seem to work and I am assuming it is because the test sees it as text not a Regular Expression. Is there a way to get this to work or do I need to have a Test Clause for each letter of the alphabet? Regards

I need to Dynamically change the Port Number in Workbench from Command Line before starting the FME workbench based on the Smallworld session

I have a MIF file with no matching MID file (attributes) which is intended to store purely geometry. I am able to drag it into my FME work space but when I run, it complains that the "...*.mid is missing"  I can get around this my importing the MIF into a TAB in MapInfo but is there a way FME can read in a MIF on its own?

I'm using FME Workbench 2017.1.I have a reader connection with multiple features (tables) being read from it. One of the features (let's call it Users for example) uses a SELECT STATEMENT option to get additional information (I can run and test the select, it's valid and it works). Right before FME uses that select statement to "obtain features for feature type", I'll get a bunch of warning messages in the log output like this:WARN | Oracle Reader: Column 'ID' specified on Feature Type but does not exist in table 'SCHEMA_NAME.USERS' and will be ignoredThis will happen for all columns of Users. I can verify that the columns exist in my source table.Even with these warnings, the records of Users will be read and written to their new destination. However, every other feature type that needs to be read/written after Users (say Logins, Favourites, Friends, whatever) will give me the same warning message for each of their columns and will not write a

Hi all,I have used Matcher to find duplicates. It works very well. I create "_match_id" attribute to create "small groups".The problem is there, I need now to sort into these "small groups" using an other attribute called "Hierarchy" (numeric attribute). The feature with bigger Hierarchy's attribute value into this small group (based on _match_id value) will have a red color, the other will have a blue color.So, I have to compare each value into this small group, keep the highest value and assign to this feature red color.I have to do this for every small groups.Any ideas ?Thanks

Hi,Since we upgraded FME Server a few months ago from 2016 to 2017 I've been unable to chain jobs together successfully when using the FMEServerJobSubmitter Transformer. I have two workbench's on server which need to run in sequence, the workbenches are run in sequence by creating a third workbench utilising the FMEServerJobSubmitter transformer. Since upgrading to 2017 the 3rd workbench used to chain the jobs together just hangs on server when run until i eventually cancel this?   All jobs are set to run on the same engine, it's as if the the chain jobs workbench is waiting for the 1st workbench to run, however because the chain jobs workbench is running it needs to clear before the first workbench can run!? Never has this issue with Server 2016?It's worth noting that since we upgraded from 2016 to 2017 we increased our server engine capacity from 1 to 2. I can of course set the chain jobs workbench to run on a different engine, however for operational purposes this is
