In Oracle, you can assign a default tablespace to an owner (schema). We are moving all our spatial databases to PostGIS where a schema cannot have a default tablespace. Instead you have to specify the tablespace to use with the create table syntax.With FME desktop, how can I specify what tablespace I want all these cloned tables to go into without first somehow creating empty tables myself and then appending to them?

Hello,  I am trying to extract the attributes from Excel to Shape file. I have a large shape with certain attributes, and I would like to join them by some conditions.  For example in this case, there are two attributes that are same as the names of the cells in Excel. If those values are the same, I would like to join the rest of attributes.  I am trying to do this with feature merger. Xls is supplier and Shape is Requestor in my case, but I am not getting those extra attributes that I want to get.  Can somebody please help me with a hint? Best regards, Dejan

Hello, I have a .SHP with lines and I need to extract X, Y coordinates as points for start and end nodes of lines and give them an ID. I could have a polyline containing several lines connected, in that case end node of first line is the same point as start point of next line. I tried with CoordinateExtractor, CoordinateConcentenator, AttributeKeeper but had no luck. Is there any solution for my problem?

Hi there. I am a FME beginner and have a simple question regarding constructing a SQL statement.My goal is to use FeatureMerger to merge CSV table data with polygons. But this process is going to be a dynamic process, I want to create a flexible workspace. For example, I want to use different CSV input files but the rest of the process stay same.Here is my question. I want to use one of output value from a transformer in my SQL statement. How I can do that? I described my workflow below.1. I am running a simple workspace in 2017 and 2016.1. Read Shapefile, bounding box accumulator and feature reader, with spatial filter on WMS.The process works fine in 2017, but in 2016 with the exact parameters, transformers and variables will not clip the full extent,simply when the envelope is applied the URL request is something along the lines of BBOX=xmin,ymin, xmax, ymax,2017 works fine the the variables are correct in the request URL, however in 2016, the bounding box coordinates in URL are that of the WMS. Again everything is identical between the two workbenches except for the result.

Hello, I have a question about Counter transformer. I have .SHP with line elements and I need to give every line an ID but Counter transformer for some group of lines gives IDs that are apart not in order. Example, 1.png I have a line that is given an ID 0, line left of this line has an ID 1, but line right of it has an ID 86(2.png), same thing is at other end of this chain of lines(Left line has an ID of 86, "central" ID 13, and right ID 12, 3.png). Is there a possibility that FME gives ID in sequence from left to right, North to South it doesn't matter just some kind of sequence? Thank you in advance. 1.PNG2.PNG3.PNG

I am trying to create multiple 'masks' at once.I have a shapefile with a lot of small zones, and a shapefile with one large region. I would like to create a shapefile with as many features as the number of small zones, each feature holding the geometry of the large region with 1 of the small zones cut out.In short: I would like to create a shapefile that can server as a mask for all of these smaller regions individually. It is meant to be used for Data Driven Pages printing purposes in ArcGIS.My attempts with the Clipper transformer were not succesfull so far: when clipping all the small zones out of the large region, at the 'outside' port only one feature emerges: the large region with all of the small zones cut out at once.

Hi There,I am new ini FME. I have the latest version.I used the DISSOLVER transformer to dissolve the polygon and the generate list functionality to get the list of all the blocks have been dissolved by the group field. The result is I can see the POLYGONS dissolved but I don't think I am generating any list of these polygons. Also how to get the count of how many polygons have been dissolved by the group field?Thanks for your help

The question is pretty self-explanatory, there is a select by location option in ArcMap that allows you to select polygons from a dataset that have their centroid in polygons from ANOTHER DATASET. I think one would need to use the CenterPointReplacer transformer to create centroids of the polygon and select the centroids that are within the other polygon then join (DatabaseJoiner?) the selection back to the original polygon but I would like to know if there is an easier way.

I have a fairly large workbench that uses quite a bit of processing muscle, so I am limiting which features are processed at one time by using an attribute value (a line reference) exposed as a published parameter i.e each time I run the workspace, I enter a new line reference to be processed. I have about 1500 different line references to process. How can I automate this so that I don't have to manually enter each new line reference?

I have a small mystery, hopefully someone can help me with it.I have several points (53) that I clip with a polygon shapefile. Some points (51) are inside the polygon, others (2) are outside. In the FME workflow I also see the correct number of features being sent to the shapefile. The data inspector also shows 51 points. But in the actual exported shapefile and .dbf file, I only find 47 points.I am not using the group feature or anything, and the points all have a unique ID code. Picture 1 shows what I see in FME workbench, picture 2 what data inspector shows me, picture 3 what QGIS reports/FME Data Inspector showsThe file is not open in another app or whatever. When I export to say GEOJSON, I do get the correct 51 points.What am I missing? Is there a bug when exporting to shapefile? Running FME 2018 build 18284-18301-18305

File Copy writer is often used in conjunction with Directory and File Pathnames reader to move or copy files from one location to another. Directory and File Pathnames reader returns a list of files in a folder and FileCopy writer will process that list.File Copy Writer allows you to ZIP the entire target folder by simply adding .zip to the folder name on the Destination File Copy Folder parameter, i.e.: D:\\tmp\\filecopy.zipBut what if you want to ZIP each indivdual file that you copy, rather than the entire folder? This is a little burried in the File Copy writer parameters.To ZIP each file that you copy, you can use the Dataset Fanout on the File Copy writer. I have some point objects that need to be rotated. The source data has a starting position and contains a offset in metres from the origin. This would give me two points and from there I could draw a line between the two and finaly measure the angle of this line using AzimutCalculator. Ergo my rotation value.I need some advice on the best way to construct the line. So far I have tried combinations of the Offseter, VertexCreator and LineBuilder to construct the new point but I have not found a way to pair this with the source object. The features all come with an unique ID, but I have not figured out how to pair the original back to the offset point before drawing the connecting line. Below is an early embryo just to give an example of what I am trying to do.

I can do it in QGIS simply by using "name" LIKE '%LDN%' to sort the data, but this is not working for me in FME using the Attribute filter and text editor. Forgive me if I have got it wrong, this is my first go at using FME.

Is there any attribute, which is able to identify these units settings?- Is it possible to detect origin of coordinates of design file? E.g. I have condition that origin of coordinate system of design file have to be set to XXX, YYY.- I read that FME desing file reader v7 doesnt support file attribute igds_element_view_independent, but desing file v8 does. Why? I´m not DGN file expert, but is it caused by the reason that dgn v7 completely doesnt support view dependent parameter?Thank You so much!Lubo

Hi,I have a polygon layer with x,y,z coordinates.For each polygon, I would like to calculate the mean z-value. For this I use the ListStatisticsCalculator, which works perfectly.The problem is, that some polygons consists of one or more useless z-value (-999, -9999 etc.). I would like to filter out these values (or delete them) before running it through the ListStatisticsCalculator.I have tried the ListElementFilter with Filter Type Numeric Range, but I can't get it to work properly.Any thoughts?Thanks,Stig

Hi all!I'm trying to do a simple reprojection from ESPG:3021 to ESPG:3006 but there seems to be some kind of problem. The transformer(?) are "flattening" the polygons (zipcode areas) in the north-eastern part of Sweden. Why? And what can I do to solve or work around this?Thank you!:nicklas

I have a workspace producing various outputs, I'd like to produce a further output which details the number of distinct customers and number of distinct products for each output but this appears to be either convoluted involving multiple steps and statistics calculators or slow involving a count distinct in the inlinequerier. I have a reader (file geodatabase) that contains about 900 polygons and want to use each feature independently as a clipper in a Clipper transformer, since I want to clip a few rasters based on that clipper. The result should be connected to that input somehow.
