Hi, I would like to create a workflow to download and merge vector data from a WFS. The city of Vienna provides building footprints in shape format via WFS. Due to the large filesize it is recommended to reduce one download to a tile of 2x2 kilometers or smaller. As I need the complete dataset I try to create a workspace to download all tiles with getfeature requests (e.g. https://data.wien.gv.at/daten/geo?service=WFS&version;=1.0.0&request;=GetFeature&typeName;=ogdwien:FMZKGEBOGD&outputFormat;=shape-zip&SRS;=EPSG:31256&BBOX;=2748,341794,4516,343209) and then merge the tiles into a File GDB. Is it possible to dynamically create the request by inserting the necessary bounding box coordinates and then merge data directly out of a ZIP file. Thanks for any help.

Hi all,  I have to bulk update a whole bunch of phone numbers. The current format is ten digits, starting with a 0. I need to convert these numbers to area code + local number.The area code is either three or four digits followed by a dash (-).  The area codes are stored in enclosed file "PhoneUpdating" The input and output phone numbers are in "PhoneOutput"  What I'd like FME to do:When the first three or four digits in the "Phone" column match with the thee or four digits found in AreaCode: then replace these with the data found in AreaCodeUpdated. I'm trying to run the 'FME Server Workflow Management' workspaces and running into a couple of issues running 'chain_job.fmw' depending on how I reference the server itself in the Web Connections settings.1. Hi,I've been given a set of 20+ MapInfo tables, of which most have a period (.) in the file names.I need to convert these tables into MS/SQL, but this presents a problem, since periods are no-go in MS/SQL, and I need to control the schema.I'm trying to write using a dynamic writer, but I simply cannot figure out the combination of parameters, that'll allow me to replace the periods with underscores before writing into the database. No matter what I do, I loose the connection to the "schema", and nothing gets converted.Please help me out. This ought to be a no-brainer, but I'm stumped.Cheers.

I am creating xyz files from a DEM Raster using the RasterCellCoercer to create a point feature containing heights from the DEM. I am writing first into an ESRI geodatabase, and then using the coordinate extractor to write X,Y,Z fields to a CSV file then renaming it to *.xyz.Is there maybe a more straight forward way of doing this? Could I cut out the ESRI Geodatabase and write directly from the RasterCellCoercer into a xyz?

Hello,  I am trying to make a Shape file from my DWG. I am trying to use only one layer from DWG because that is all I need. Basically I am trying to close all the polygons in that layer, and calculate their area and to write their area in shp. I am not getting a good result and I have no idea what could be the problem.Also, I was wondering if I can get a result written in form of "P= "number" m2". Now I am getting this from screen shot.

Hello, I am trying to make a raster from two SHP files. It is a bit specific so I would like to ask you if maybe somebody has any good idea what is the best idea how to solve this.  I am having two input Shape files that have multiple attributes. In one file, I first want to take only two classes from one attribute (ROADS: Motorway and Residential) and give them specific thickness, all the others can be normal width. (I was wondering if the best way to solve it is Tester ---> AttributeCreator).After that, I would like to prepare that for printing. Best way would probably be transforming it to raster. (MapnikRasterizer???) I would need to specify the window that I want to be printed and I know that it can be done with MapnikRasterizer.  I am looking forward to all good ideas and suggestions how to solve this.Thank you all in advance!

I have a huge amount of data from a WFS which needs to be tiled in a good way. @takashi had a very good code, but I can’t get it to work in 2017.10.154 edition (the version I have).I have a test file with more than 2000 points and I want tiles with 230 points each.I have python installed on my computer and I am using the python caller.I get error messages:” FME Configuration: No destination coordinate system setPythonFactory failed to load python symbol `FeatureProcessor'Factory proxy not initialized f_4(PythonFactory): PythonFactory failed to process feature”Why is that?Any suggestions?/Regards, Tobias

Here's a tricky one. We're using an excel marcro-enabled (xlsm) file as a template and in the script we're populating it with various info from textfiles and more. When we try to open the resulting Excel file with Excel (2016) the file doesn't open. We're getting an error message saying there's something wrong with the file and would you like to try to fix the errors? The offered fix isn't good enough. I'm thinking this might have to do with the xlsm-format or maybe it's a language issue. We've had help from SAFE resaving the file and then this would sometimes remedy the situation. Anyways, this is just to check if anybody has encountered the same problem and have any ideas as to what in the excel template can cause this error. We have macros in the file and from what I can gather no other strange things.Thankful for any suggestions.

Hi all,  I'm having issues merging two Excel files - I have tried FeatureMerger but I'm not getting any results.  I have a "main file" that contains a feature "POI_SHORT_NAME".  I also have an "abbreviations" file containing the same feature "POI_SHORT_NAME"  What I'm trying to do: When the postalcodes in both files match then the POI_SHORT_NAME from the abbreviations file should be written to the main file.  Cheers,Ed

I am trying to go from an IFC fil to cityGML in accordance with the BIM to GIS (Basic) | IFC LOD 100 to LOD 2 CityGML tutorial. I am currently tying to replicate all the 4 steps within my own workspace with my own readers. However in step 3 "Set Attributes and traits" my AttributeCreator doesn't work and I find the tutorial lacking in showing how to set it up.So how do i setup my transformers in step3?Both the AttributeCreator and the GeometryPropertySetter

(I'm using FME Server 2011)  hi FME'ers,  I have a whole bunch of points, millions, and I want to create a grid of squares/rectangles (bounding boxes) covering the points so that each grid feature contains roughly the same number of points.  I'm then going to use this grid to set of a whole load of fme server jobs to process the points - so am using the squares as a way to split up the process into managable chunks, by passing in the min/max x/y values to my 'worker' workbench.  I've split this job up so i'm dealing with 10k chunks, so want to divide this 10k square into smaller squares (or rectangles) based on the density within the square.  I also want to reduce the number of jobs I create on the server, so only want to break up the tiles when they are over a certain point count - say 5000, and group them to between 3000-8000 say.  so in the picture below, I want all the green /amber tiles grouped together (but only if they form another square or rectangle

Hello.I need to insert a dash into a phone number after first  digit. I know how to do it using attribute manager and text editor only  if the length of the number is always the same. In this case is not. Is there a code I can put instead of "X" to indicate the rest of the value? If I will put fixed number the outcome is incorrect because of mentioned before different string length.Maybe there is other way?Thanks,Cheers

Hi  I have a 3D city model made out of individual polygons. Polygons forming one building have a common ID (also attr like Type: Wall, Roof). I need to combine/merge/aggregate together shapes beloning to each building. The output should be a shapefile or multipatch.   I tried using Aggregator in combination with Dissolver and Sorter but data looks fine only in FME viewer. I try to use it in ArcGIS Pro, CityEngine and also in Microstation but data is completely distorted.  When I load non-aggregated data in ArcGIS Pro it works fine. But the problem is it has to be combined before I can use it for my project. HiI want to use FME Server to work with data from Database (DB1) and Fileshare (FS1) and transform them and place in Database (DB2) and Fileshare (FS2). All Source and Destination resources are located on different, separate machine. Do I need to run FME Server services (FME Serv App Server, FME Serv Core, FME Serv Database, FME Serv Engines) on such user account which has an access to all resources DB1, FS1, DB2 and FS2?

I have created a workbench that transforms DGN cells to AutoCAD blocks. In this process I am trying to set a feature to the defpoints layer but when I aggregate to a block it puts all features on 0. Is there a way to keep that defpoints layer when aggregating?

In my dataset, I have 2 columns, one for x and one for y. How do I create a point from these attributes in FME? How do I turn these attributes into a spatial geometry representing a point?

When I use FME Quick Translator to convert CityGML file to IMX, I get this error. How can I fix it?

I have two datasets, 1 and 2, containing addresses. The address consist of all the 4 fields.I'm trying to compare the two datasets, to find matches between the two. I have already used a stringreplacer, to remove all the spaces in the postalcodes, and to replace all the special characters in the streetnames.In dataset 2, the addition2 field contains a lot of random information, as you can see. I need help compiling a python script (to be used in the python caller transformer or any other transformer) that's able to:- detect when there's more than one character in the addition2 field (I expect that field to contain only one character) and filter that record out;-from the filtered records, detect the first (or maybe first three?) characters in the addition2 field, and use that to recheck the address in dataset 2 with address1, to see if there's a hit. - if there's no hit, I want fme to ignore the information in the addtion2 field, see it as an empty field, and then co
