Hi all, I'm playing around with FME Server Apps and I'm trying to return errors when uploaded files may be invalid. I used the Terminator transformer to set a custom error and can see in the Fail Status message in the job summary. But when the app hits the error I'm returned with 'We don't know what went wrong' . Has anyone managed to return a proper error? Cheers

I have dynamically transformed CRS system of the tables (MGA94-56) from MSSQL database and then written into another MSSQL database (MGA2020-56) with same table schema. I can see the new tables exist in the SQL server. Also When I am checking the tables on FME workspace by using CoordinateSystemExtractor, I can see the tables are transformed. But the data is not displayed on QGIS, though attribute table can be seen. Also in QGIS property option, the CRS system is still showing the old one. Can anyone kindly tell me what could be the likely reason/s?

Hi, Basically, I have two point clouds that overlap. One with colour, and one without. I want to find the nearest point with colour to every point without it so that I can use the colour from the nearest point I can do it by:Coercing the subset of points without colour into individual pointsMapping the XYZ of the coerced points to an attributeMaking a small buffer around these points (say 2.5cm/1 Inch)Then clipping the remaining cloud to a small area around each buffer (creating a large number of small point clouds that have the XYZ of each original point without colour)Turning the coerced XYZ attribute values into a component of the small coloured point cloudsFinding the smallest distance of each point cloud between the coerced XYZ component and the coloured XYZ component Using that smallest distance to find one point in each cloudReplacing the XYZ of the nearest neighbour with the coerced component and thereby finding the closest RGB value for the original points that had no colour.T

While opening up a transformer in a FME workbench (used through the interoperability extension in ArcGIS Pro), the work closed suddenly, and the .fmw is now completely gone. When I attempted to select it in 'recent workspaces' when opening FME it informed me it doesn't exist (cue mini heart attack). Right now all I have is a RECOVER file in my folder, and I'm really hoping this can recover my project since it was a pretty time-intensive endeavor. Can the RECOVER file be used to bring back that workspace? Is there any other way to recover it?

I have two datasets from OSM for a small region: roads and waterways. I want to count the "bridges" resp. all kinds of crossings between roads and waterways in FME. I can't find the right Transformer to do this (or I just don't see the right options if I already found a suitable transformer). I tried e.g. "Intersector", "LineOnLineOverlayer", "SpatialFilter". Maybe I'm just missing a small detail. What Transformer and options should I use? I got helpful hints here at gis.stackexchange.com, saying that I could use an Intsersector, a ListHistogrammer and a Tester. Unfortunately, this does not work for me:  In the two respective Readers with OSM data I exposed the fme_basename attribute and use it for list generation. However, the Tester does not detect the correct nodes when I check if the histogram{0}.count equals 2. What am I doing wrong? Or is there even another, much simpler way to count the crossings between two feature layers? Tha

I am updating multiple Workspaces to the newest version of FME Workbench 2022.1. Updating the transformers has proceeded well except for the Clipper transformer. I found that v14 takes substantially longer to process the data than v13 in all workspaces tested. In one example, v13 took 22 seconds and v14 was stopped after 10 minutes. Any suggestions? One item noted, when using v13 all 16,076 values are received from the PointOnArea transformer before Clipper starts processing; whereas, v14 appears to process one at a timev13v14 Update Settings

I'm new to FME and impressed by what can be done with it. However, I got stuck regarding some details. I have a PointOnAreaOverlayer transformer and I wonder why the Point output port let's me use all attributes, whereas the Area output port generates no output for some attributes that I need to use. Currently imported a 'subledger' text string via Attribute Manager. Need to have leading zeros added to the left so it is always 8 characters. For example, '1046' should be '00001046'. Please advise which Transformer should I use. Also another 'subledger type' text sting is dependent on the above 'subledger' field. If no subledger, it shows blank. If something in the subledger, then 'W' should show under 'subledger type'. Please advise how to achieve. Thanks.

I am constructing a workspace that builds a file geodatabase from a schema specified in Excel. Each worksheet row defines an attribute and its feature class and feature dataset hierarchy (and domain, if any, but that will be for another day). The schema has feature classes mostly nested in feature datasets but some are root level. For testing, I have extracted a small sample of the schema, representing thirteen combinations of feature dataset and feature class with one feature class at root level. Now, after Excel file reading and subsequent processing, near the end of the workflow the attribute records go through an Aggregator transformer, which creates the attribute{} list attribute. The result is thirteen schema features. Schema features exiting from the Aggregator have no geometry, of course, and consequently have fme_type=fme_no_geom and fme_geometry=fme_undefined. HelloI just started using Automation in FME Server 2020 and plan to use it more by migrating my existing scheduled jobs.I have a workspace which runs a batch script. It uploads multiple files to an SFTP server using WinSCP.com commands withing the script.The workspace in question, in "Automations" is connected to 2 Email (External Action) 1 - Success then send an e-mail2 - Failed then send an e-mail with 2 attachments (WinSCP.txt & Error.txt)Number 2 is the problem. So I thought I'd use Global Keys for that purpose ({Global.Email_Attachment}{Global.Email_attachment1})Right now it's failing before when the 2 parameters are associated together I get an error in the log stating that the file can't be found.Is that possible and if so how do I include both Global Keys within the Email Attachment field? If not how do I proceed?Thanks Sameer

Hi, I need to work with a file that uses EPSG:5682 as CRS but unfortunately it's not available in the CS Gallery. I tried to add it as a custom CS, as described in the online documentation but it's still not showing up. This was my workflow:I went to the online tool and pasted the ESRI WKT for EPSG 5682I entered the missing parameters (that weren't already populated from the WKT)I unzipped the files provided by the tool and copied them to ..username\\Documents\\FME (see attachment)After restarting FME, the custom CS is still not available in the gallery. Hi, We are creating an integration between Smallworld and FME Server. The Smallworld tool will call an FME workspace on our FME Server. The FME Server is hosted internally only and we are using built in authentication.  There is an option in FME Server to create a short lived session token via the api. I've set up a user that only has access to this repository that can be used to generate the token.  There is a second option in the Administrator interface to generate a fixed api token. When is this used? Is it more or less secure? The Smallworld developer notes that if you are using a user name and password to generate the short lived token then the risk is similar:'It seems to me that the API token with restrictions is more secure than username/password. Such a token is long and not recommended. It can be extracted from the Smallworld session and this applies for username/password.' For integration with Portal for ArcGIS we use the short lived token generated by a built in

Hi, I've a bunch of features relative to adresses and associated inhabitants.I've already grouped the features by similar street names and numbers wich results in the "match_id" column.What I need now is to sum each four "total..." column's value (separately) by using the "match_id" as grouping value.The goal is to get the number of peoples, etc ..., living at one adress.I've tried several transformers after the AttibuteManager but none return the attented values. Thanks for your help

Please can someone tell me how to write a WHERE clause in the feature reader that excludes records that do not contain a value.I have thousands of records and some of them have a Global ID - I want to keep these records.I also have records that contain NULL or no value - I want to exclude these values.I can perform this function in a Tester, but a colleague informed me having this clause built in to the feature reader instead will be much quicker. Hi everyone, I need to retexture a citygml file using one (mosaic)image file. But I am facing an issue in the last steps using the Appearance Setter. I started with the WallSurfaces and managed to calculate the (row,column) coordinates of each wall-vertex on the new single image (derived from the previous textured model that used multiple images for one building in the appearance folder). The position of a (sample) wall3D projected on the mosaic-image looks correct, attached a screenshot from QGIS. I rescaled the row column coordinates to a 0,1 scale, with (0,0) representing the lower left corner of the image, and stored them as list-attributes for each wallsurface.
