Hi,

I have been experimenting with the workbench to generate a 3D texture (http://fmepedia.safe.com/articles/Samples_and_Demos/3D-Textured-Examples). Instead of generation a 3D PDF I would like to save the resulting surface as Geotif.  Meaning I would like the shades for visualizing the height added to my original raster. In the end it should look something like the attached example, which I got from saving the 3D PDF as image, using the acrobat reader (the coordinate systems won't match correctly, so the image looks a bit funny, but when I know how to generate the raster, I request the original raster in the correct coordinate system).

Any idea how I can achieve that.

Thanks,

Iris

Hi Iris,

Possibly the RasterHillshader is something you can use.

Hi Itay,

thanks for pointing me in the right direction.  In the end I did use the RasterHillshader after generating an DEMRaster from my contour lines and then used the RasterExpressionEvaluator to combine the originial back and white raster with the HillShade.

Thanks

Iris
