I am trying to create a series of geospatial pdf files that are at a fixed scale.  The overall map extents of my data varies and when I generate my pdf files each sizes to fit the frame which results in different scales for each file.  Is there a way to force each to be the same set scale.  I thought about creating a box that would give me the desired scale at my frame size and then centering this box over each area.  Is there another easier method for setting the scale that I am overlooking?  I have only been working with the pdf writer for a short time so I could very easily be missing something.
No, that's pretty much it. However, if you want more control, you could consider the FME Auto plug-in for Avenza's MAPublisher. It allows you to use a template document with a fixed scale.
Thats a similar approach to what I took, so go for it. It did not take too long to get working. I have not used the plugin though.
Thanks.  I have been using the FMEAuto plug-in for awhile now and really enjoy the extra controls. The only reason I was looking at the geospatial pdf writer in this case was because the pdfs I'm creating are extremely simple and I was using them for a quick review of data using the fanout function, otherwise the Avenza FMEauto writer would be my first choice.
