Any Use case for ArcGIS and FME desktop to anlasis the TOID, Topoligical points, sites, polygon's......

Hi All, I am really excited to learn new tool and work with new tool, new project new task really challenging !AS, I said, I am new to FME data integration Platform, I am really struggling where can I start. AS an Automation tester came from python background, I need to automated the TOID lines, sites..., My project include with Technologies ArcGIS and FME. Could you please suggest me any tutorial or any use case related to Geo spatial Maps.(I have excel, .fme, .gpkg files). Apologies for lengthy question, I really nee to run the test and develop more based on them ThanksRegards

AttributeManager changes action from an existing attribute from 'Do Nothing' to 'Set Value' (effectively clearing the existing value when not changing it back), when a 'row is pasted' (or duplicated) at the location of that attribute.

Again I hope the title is self explanatory, but below is a sum up;Say you start of by creating some attributes with an attributecreator;Then, when you connect an AttributeManager, it looks something like this;If you now want to create or include some extra attributes from another AttributeManager, you can 'paste them in'.First you select the row from another AttributeManager which you want to copy the row (right click on the row, and choose 'Copy Row' (or use either the Ctrl+C shortcut or the dedicated copy button));However, the problem then arrives when you paste this row into the original attribute manager (richt click on the row, and choose 'Paste Row' (or use either the Ctrl+V shortcut or the dedicated paste button));The result is that the row is inserted as intended, however, the action of the row where you inserted the row now changes from 'Do Nothing' to 'Set Value';Because no attribute is set for the original attribute_2 (as it was not in

Looking at a subgroup of features that meets a specified criteria, how to select features from with in each sub group?

I am looking to filter out specific types of addresses from a full dataset of addresses. These addresses include points that can represent the main address (ADDRESS_BASE) (ex: 123 main street), or addresses that include a suite addresses (LVAPT_ADDRESS) (ex: #3, 123 main street). Scenario 1: If the main address and the suite address are all stacked at the same XY, then I want to select the main address (this isn't hard)Scenario 2: If there are groups of suite addresses with the same main address on a building but with each slightly different XYs then:Option A: if the group with the same main address is all on one building then select the main addressOption B: if the group with the same main address is on more than one building then keep all addresses. My brain is getting tired of running through different ways to make these different kinds of selections/filters. I have tried the Matcher because it includes a MATCH_ID value, but the MATCHER seems to require the points need to be exa

Read blocks of txt file and search for data

Hello. I have a txt file which contains "blocks" of data, separated by line containing #####. I need to extract information from each "block", and each time the #### appears that means the new epoch starts. For each block I check if it contains eg. "Station point:", "PPM", "MWF". Each Feature is then written in DB. -2147024893 Error when reading esri file gdb in compressed folder..

 I get the following error message when reading esri gdb in zip folder. Reader not functioning as expected in both Desktop and Server when pointed to zip file. When extracted and reader pointed to gdb, it works. Error -2147024893  The ArcObjects license 'Standard' is being selected from the Windows registryFME has checked out an Esri license. The product checked out is 'Standard'Installed ArcGIS version is '10.8'Unable to connect to the File Geodatabase at 'D:\\xxx\\xxx\\Compressed\\FileGeoDB.gdb.zip'. Make sure the correct filename was specified, and that the geodatabase wasn't saved with a newer version of ArcGIS than the one installed locally. The error number from ArcObjects is: '-2147024893'. The error message from ArcObjects is: {} Is it mandatory to extract the files manually before executing the workbench. Or do we have any work around. ThanksSiva Bulusu

Why does a JSON reader convert JSON boolean values (i.e. true/false) to Yes/No boolean values?

I hope the title is already quite self explanatory.As an example, consider the following JSON document;{    "boolean_1": true,    "boolean_2": false}When this is being read with a JSON reader, it returns the following output;I would prefer the data to be non altered, so that comparisons can be made later on.See also the following attached sourceFile and workspace; To me it reminds me of the following item I addressed earlier on;https://knowledge.safe.com/questions/90726/extracting-nested-object-with-jsonextractor-issue.htmlin which a JSON Extractor used to convert JSON boolean values (i.e. true/false) to 1/0 boolean values, where I'm glad to see that that got fixed.To me it only raises some concerns that the handling of these values doesn't seem to occur in a very consistent manner; whereas a JSON fragmenter does seem to keep JSON boolean values intact, initially a JSON Extractor converted these values to 1/0, and now I find that a JSON reader converts these values to Yes/No. :(

DWG styler not working

Hi, I have a landscape colored after value, and when I press inspector before features are written I can see them in perfect colors as they should, but when I open the written dwg in AutoCAD or Bentley Viewer everything is just red, and I dont know why. Pictures: The lines in wireframe view and conceptual view etc is just the same color in Autocad even when the look fine when inspected jsut before written, I tried using Regions instead but doesnt work.

list or values as input for pointcloudcombiner

Hello, i want to use as input for the pointcloudcombiner certain files, which i have written in different attributes (neigbor_[0-7] of one feature (eg 2671_1262). These are the neighbouring tiles of lidar data. So far I have not found a way how I can pass the attributes (complete file path + filename) or a list as input to the PCCombiner. Is there an elegant way for this in FME?

Converting UTC to Local Time, error by 2hr

I am downloading my survey123 data from ArcGIS Online Feature Layer, and trying to convert the stored UTC into Local Time, and I have been provided this code, from this thread: @TimeZoneSet(@TimeZoneSet(@Value(shift_start),local),utc,convert) It initially looked good, but now I am looking closer at the results I am seeing the converted data is all out by +2hr. Where I should be seeing it converted to 8.30am,  they are all showing as 10.30am. And today we have started 'daylight savings' where we adjust our clocks by 1hr, my dates are instead showing as +4hr out! I am pulling my hair out as I have no idea where to start looking to resolve!I am unsure why this could be? Is there an adjustment I should be making? Is it a setting in FME? I am in Sydney Australia time zone.

How could export only specific area and the intersected of this area direct from oracle reader

 i have reader oracle spatial and i would like to export only specific area and the intersected of this area only .i do not want to export all areas from oracle reader because it spends too much time so i would like to export the interested areas only from oracle .  i did already spatial filter after that and it works great but the problem it takes too much time to export all areas then execute spatial filter so is it possible to write code inside where clause and as a result as give me rrequired areas without upload all areas .Thanks alot

Identify inner boundary donuts that share boundary with outer shell

Hi,I am using FME DonutHoleExtractor to identify (and eventualy remove) the inner shell of donut polygons on Cadastral Maps.Isolated inner shells are easily removed but in my data there are many encircled polygons that share one or two boundaries with the outer shell. In the image below I show two examples of this situation (A and B) and also an isolated inner shell (C).Is there a way to select/identify this kind of encircled polygons with FME?Thanks, Oscar

Time conversion from local time to UTC and vice versa

Hi Community, No question, just a tip to share... For a workflow we have to check for new observations in an ArcGIS Online Feature Service and send an email to relevant stakeholders. AGOL time is in UTC whereas the email is send in local time. To notify the right times we had to convert the AGOL time to local time and the email time to UTC. We use AttributeCreators for that. Below we share the code used for these conversions: # Convert input time (in UTC) to local time## Author: Egge-Jan Pollé, Tensing GIS Consultancy B.V.# Date: 24 October 2018## The date we get from ArcGIS Online (SRNL_CREATED_DATE) is in UTC.# To convert it to local time we first have to set the time zone to utc:## Step 1: @TimeZoneSet(@Value(SRNL_CREATED_DATE),utc)## Next we can convert it form utc to local:## Step 2: @TimeZoneSet(<Output from Step 1>,local,convert)## We can nest this like below:@TimeZoneSet(@TimeZoneSet(@Value(SRNL_CREATED_DATE),utc),local,convert)# Convert input time (in local time) to UTC#

PointCloudeExpressionEvaluator Parameter type

I tried to fuse the shapefile information with the point cloud. When I clipped the point cloud based on the shapefile polygon boundary, the information of the count number of each polygon is supposed to be attached to the point cloud attribute. I saved this information in the userdata attribute but it is Uint8 data type, my count number should use int16 to cover the range. Is there any solution that can set the userdata data type as int16 without converting by the application automatically ?

ESRI Geodatabase Raster Dataset Footprint

When you view an fgdb mosaic dataset in ArcMap, the footprint and boundary are features that are shown and editable. I can read the fgdb raster dataset in FME but I can't figure out how to access the footprint and boundary datasets. Is this data accessible?

SQLExpress daylight saving problem

The "Datos" table stores weather stations data. This query retrieves data from 00:00 to 05:00 (2020-03-29).This is my FME workspaceThe inspector window shows:In the "Fecha" column, dates from 02:00 to 02:50 are duplicated. Is it a MSSQL_JDBC_NONSPATIAL driver issue?

How to update single layer in existing CAD dwg with gdb feature class, while maintaining all other layers that already exist in dwg?

Hello, I'm still a relative newbie to FME, so bear with me. I'm trying to update our topographic CAD dwgs with our updated LiDAR derived contours. I only want to replace the existing contour layer and maintain all other layers in the existing CAD dwgs. I'm just not sure how to proceed. The contours are already clipped to the same index grid as the dwgs. Any guidance to the correct path of transformers would be most appreciated. Writing Autocad text features creates block

HI, I looked at this great article: https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/38908/autocad-workflows-reading-and-writing-text-mtext-f.html And tried applying it for my project. By creating label of my feature id then using DWG styler:label = @Value(ID)gThe problem I have is that these do not text as the example article but creates a block with text tags. If I manually add text in autocad I get this: RIght TextBut instead I get this: Block ReferenceI wrote the text in a separate layer called LayerLabels, I even added a AttributeManager adding a new attribute autocad_entity = autocad_text and activated format attributes "autocad_entity" in the writer to maybe force it to read as text but its still created as a block.My writer:IN bentley it says its an FME block, but I never set any blocks and my only reader is a shp readerThis below is also supposed to say text with a T sign next to the Acad and supposed to show the text Any ideas?

CAD flow arrows to GIS flow direction

Hello,I am converting a sewer network from CAD to GIS, and am attempting to convert flow arrows to flow direction in the output GIS geometric network. I have already successfully built out the conversion of the actual sewer features to GIS, and all I have left to do it get the flow direction set up.The flow arrows are drawn as triangular solids with separate lines (on the same CAD layer). Does anyone have any advice on how to convert this to flow direction in a GIS geometric network? I'm assuming the workflow will involve snapping the flow arrows to the corresponding lines, but beyond that I'm not sure how to approach this; I'm way outside of my FME experience level here. I'm guessing the Angle attribute of the line component of the flow arrows may come in to play as well. Any suggestions of transformers and order of operations are appreciated. Thanks.

How to zip a CSV-File inside an attribute?

My duty is to read multiple CSV-Files my means of HTTPCaller from an online source into an attribute each, subsequently zip the CSV-file inside the very attributes, and finally write the binary attribute content (zipped CSV) to a PostgreSQL bytea-Attribute.I know how to read the HTTP source and write into the bytea destination attribute.QUESTION: How am I to zip a CSV-file inside a binary BLOB FeatureType attribute within the FME Desktop Workspace.Hint: I tried to use the ZipArchiver, but that one needs a file as source, as well as destination, but wouldn't work on attributes. Many thanks for any effort!

Ftpcaller results in corrupted zip files

I am trying to download a specific set of files from an FTP server. First I use an FTP caller to download to an attribute so I can select the filenames of the files I want. Then I use another FTP caller to download teh files. It seems to download fine, but all the downloaded zip files are corrupted. How do I fix this?

bug in group mode ?

Hi folks,I don't know if it's a "new" bug. when I configure a reader DWG in grouped mode (single merge feature type) but not directly when creating the reader, but afterwhile, in the parameters of one of the faeatures :The number of entities increases anormally ... and do never represent the real number of entities presents in the layer.For exemple, I have 3000 entities (block) in a layer.If I check the box "merge feature type" it increases to 20000 without reason.I am surprised because I used this function a lot of times, without any problem.Does anyone know if there is a problem known about it ?Or maybe I do the bad manipulationRegards

Is this a bug? I am trying to list and download several files (some have dependencies-- references-- and some don't) and noticed that I cant download files that have an associated reference file.Any thoughts or suggestions?Thanks
