Spatial Relator by field

Hi, I have two datasets, each with thousands of features, I need to check the spatial relationship between them, but if for example 2 features are the same, I would like that based on a certain field with the value of the year for example, it would always be considered the most recent year. Can you help me? Thank´s

Is there a way to transfer schema and attributes from GIS to DGN?

I am able to complete the geometry transfer from GIS .shp to DGN v8 however the attributes from the writer are not available once the format has been changed even though the reader and writer seem to recognize them.

Does Dissolver Dissolve separated polygons?

We have short Workspace to update attributes and geometry (polygons) and added the Dissolver transformer, but when run the polygons are not Dissolved. When run we get more tract in the output than when in. Cannot see why this is not striate forward. Thx

How do I prevent the Postgres Writer from naming all fields to lower case?

When I update the writer and uncheck "Lower Case Attribute Names" under Table Creation it automatically rechecks it after I close the window. I just want to retain the same field name format from the table I'm reading from.

Bson (Binary Json) to Json conversion

Hey Everyone,I am a newbie in FME wonderland can anyone help me out how can I convert bson to json. I am using http caller to get data from our asset management system named Alloy by Causeway. Al the data is in bson format and i don't know how can I convert that into usable format. All the data is sitting under _response_body. Let me know if anyone can help or want any more details :)

Polygons with touching rings -> row expansion in PostGIS

I’ve been wrangling a large number of Shapefiles recently (almost half a billion!), converting them to a PostGIS database. A small command file calling FME (with return code checking) was just the trick and, after several days of processing, the job was done. The problem is… my record count on one of the output tables is larger than expected. ☹ After some research and experimentation, I’ve discovered that if you pass a polygon with bad geometry (in my case touching rings, which is fine in a Shapefile), it causes multiple records to be written to a PostGIS table! So, if a record has a polygon with 3 rings, not overlapping but touching, it would be expanded to 3 rows in the output table. FME does not report this in its output summary, which makes be suspect it’s a PostGIS behaviour in trying to deal with the bad geometry. Fortunately, in my case, any additional rings are always artefacts in nature and can be discarded, so my main question is how can I set a polygon to be its first ring o

ChangeDetector User-Parameter for Selected Attributes can't be triggered from a workspace runner (FME Desktop 2021)

Hi I have spent far too many hours trying to make the change detector dynamically pick up changes. The scenario is: I have 10 datasets that need to be compared between the original and updated databases. Each dataset has only a few fields that need to be checked for changes. These fields are different for each dataset. I have a CSV which is acting as a 'config' file and contains a list of the field names to check for each datasetI have 2 workbenches; the first workbench gets all of the information from the config file, then passes through the information via user-parameters to the Change Detection workbench via workspace runner. Even though I have created a user parameter for the "Match Selected Attributes" config in the ChangeDetector, I can't pass through this information via the workspace runner. It ONLY works if I run the Change Detection workbench individually, and this isn't linked to the config file, so it's not dynamic at all. I got so frustrated

Has anyone had any experience setting up a transformation to generate borehole traces projected to 2D map?

I have a COLLARS table with the following columns : hole_number, X, Z, Z; I also have a SURVEY table with hole_number, depth, azimuth, and dip. Currently I use the QGIS "Geoscience" plug-in with those tables, it does a nice job but it's static and I can't really schedule it. Any thoughts?

Access Token Validation Failure - Invalid Audience error with SharePointOnlineConnector

Hello!I've been struggling with the SharePointOnlineConnector transformer for a couple days now. I have set up a web service following the official tutorial (first I've set up one for Sharepoint List, then an identical one from the Sharepoint Online template as well). When using a Sharepoint List Reader I can successfully access the lists, but I can't access anything from the SharePoint Online Connector. I get the following error: "SharepointOnlineConnector: Error making request to https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/sites?$select=id,webUrl,name&search=: Access token validation failure. Invalid audience." The app I've set up in azure has the following permissions (might be overkill, but I'm just testing for now):Microsoft Graph (5)Sites.Manage.AllSites.Read.AllSites.ReadWrite.AllUser.ReadUser.ReadWrite SharePoint (7)AllSites.ManageAllSites.ReadAllSites.WriteMyFiles.ReadMyFiles.WriteProject.ReadProject.Write What am I missing here?Thanks in advance!

Hello, I have been sent a SketchUp model that includes roads, cars, trains, buildings, and other features. I do not have a SketchUp license. Viewing with Inspector, all of these features are aggregated as one, so I cannot select individual buildings. What is a potential workflow to extract the individual buildings from this mass SketchUp model? My end goal is to incorporate these buildings as COLLADA (.dae) format to be used in an ArcGIS Pro Scene for land use planning and visualization. I know an appropriate workflow may be difficult to determine without having the attribute information, so even suggested potential transformers to use is appreciated. Thank you.

How derive global origin x,y and z from a dgn file?

Hi everyone,This is a very specfic question and is targeted towards the persons who work a lot with dgn files in FME Desktop. I ask this question on behalf of my colleague. He is reading in a lot of dgn files in FME Desktop made by other persons from other departments and some drawings have a global origin that is not x = 0, y= 0 such as in beneath image. My colleague would like to derive these global orign x, y and z values so we can move the global origin of these dgn files to x en y =0. Does anyone thus know if the global origin x and y values are stored in some kind of parameters? When reading in the dgn files in fme desktop the global orign x, y and z are known (see image below). So it looks to me that these values are stored in some kind of variables.

How to set up a creation of pdf/shp for each DB-row sent with emailer

I have an MSSQL database, where new rows will be added on and off. I have setup a workspace that will be run nightly, that checks the database for rows with null in the field "email_sent_with_data" and sends it in a beautifully formatted email and it works wonderfully. However, I would like to send along a map, either a pdf or a shapefile or similar containing the three geometry columns in the row. Any ideas for solutions to this problem?

MS Word Writer Issue - Creating corrupt documents when writing more than two images.

I am creating PDF reports from ArcGIS Portal Features w/ attachments. The workbench is set up to write to a word doc to use the template doc functionality (custom header/footer) and then converting to PDFs with a PythonCaller. It seems that when writing more than 2 images (from the feature attachments) to the MS Word document, it corrupts the file. Two images or less works correctly and the documents are able to convert. I am writing out images from attachments to a local drive using the BinaryDecoder and AttributeFileWriter. Then specifying them for the word doc using the MSWordStyler --> Image Source = From File. I've tried using a PythonCaller after the the AttributeFileWriter to compress the images (jpeg and png) and resize them before being written to the word doc, but that doesn't seem to help. Any help/ideas would be appreciated.

Hi, Is there a way to modify execution order of a sub part of a workflow to obtain a full execution of an arbitrary long chain of transformer on a given feature.alike: transformer1 execute row1 - transfomrer2 execute row1 and output 10 row - transformer3 execute row1 to 10- then -transformer1 execute row2 - transformer2 execute row2 and output 5 row - transfomer3 execute row11 to 15- then -transformer1 execute row3 - transformer2 execute row3 and output 7 row - transfomer3 execute row16 to 22 this even if there is merge or agregate transformer. The issue is: I have is that I have to sequence operation on an external web service that some time "loose itself" when for exemple I create all invoices then further in the workflow I create all invoices_lines for all invoices, I need inside of a more complex workflow to create the invoice then create all line for this invoice then create next invoice and so on... I allready know that I can use a workflow runner to achieve this but it

Unable to add two different files in the same zip folder

I have this problem:In the workbench there are many writers. Two of them should be in the same zip folder. This happens when I run the workbench in FME Desktop, but when I run it from FME server I only get 1 of the two files in the zipped folder. I use fanouts:@Value(field1)_ExportacioGIS.zip\\SortidaDXF.dxf@Value(field1)_ExportacioGIS.zip\\SortidaDWG.dwg Where "field1" is the same value for each file. In the desktop I get the expected output:But when it runs from the server I get only the DXF file. I try it using a Job Submitter and a Data Download services. Any idea why it does not work from the server?

How to get complex annotations interpreted, or is there a possibility to (re)-create the 'labels'?

Within ArcGIS Pro 3.1 I am creating annotations with the help of Arcade (a lightweigth expression language). The outcome is as shown below, basically a fractionWhen I read the annotation layer from the file geodatabase, FME does not interpret the HTML tags in the text string, but counts them as part of the text.I there a way to make FME interpret these tags correctly? My final product should be a dgn file with a level holding these 'labels' and I was wondering if that is possible, and if I can achieve this with FME. Finding all date attributes in a table

Hi I am reading various tables from Oracle each of which contain many date attributes. Is there a transformer that will allow me to filter out all the attributes that are have a type of date as I want to check the dates make sense (I know there are some with some very dodgy data in and wont write out to a sql table) Thanks

Hi, Im struggling a bit with finding nearby points to another point layer. I want the Neighborhoodfinder to find the two closest points within a distance. The output file only includes the nearest point even though I have set the neighbors to find parameter = 2. I want the output file to include the two closest points and their distance. Hi, I´m trying to execute a Workspace in FME 32 bits, my workspace have some scripts arcpy from Arcmap 32 bits. I´m getting this message in my workspace: ERROR : A compatible ArcGIS application could not be found or is not licensed for Python Compatibility 'Esri ArcGIS Python 2.7'The workspace has Python Compatibility set to 'Esri ArcGIS Python 2.7', which requires an appropriate version of ArcGIS Desktop or ArcGIS Server. If ArcGIS is not required by this workspace, then update Python Compatibility to a non-Esri-ArcGIS Python. Otherwise, please install the required ArcGIS product, or if ArcGIS Pro already installed, install 64-bit FME and update Python Compatibility to 'Esri ArcGIS Python 3.7'. Some characters in the password for FME Server Database seems to make installation unusable.

When installing FME Server 2022.2.5 b22795, i used the character '¤' in the PostgreSQL database password. The password was accepted and the installation finished without warnings or errors. Then, none of the FME Services would start. When looking for the configuration files, I noticed that server.xml was missing. I copied it from another installation wich made the FME Server Application Server start. The FME Server database service would not start still. After some troubleshooting, I decided to reinstall. When asked again for the password, for some reason, I used another password without the '¤' sign. After the installation, all services started up and the server.xml file was where it's supposed to be. I have repeated the procedure on a different machine with the same result. My guess is that the '¤' sign is approved by the FME installation program but not accepted by the database. I don't understand why the server.xml file was missing though.For english
