In a FME Server workspace app, how do I prevent the job from being cancelled if i close the tab or browser before the job has finished? In our case the processing of the job takes a very long time, so I don't want to expect the user to leave the tab open all the time.

Ultimately, i aim to end up with a map where you know depending on your location, where your nearest point is, represented by area.

Hello Sir/ Madam, I have several transformers that I am not quite understand even I checked on the "help". I hope someone can give me a hand. May I ask what is the purpose of using transformer "Creator"? I often use "reader" to add the data. However, I saw other people use "Creator", may I ask why?What is transformer "GeomtryCoercer" does? It said to reset the geometry type, what does it mean?How about "Aggregator" and "Deaggregator"? does it mean to combine and separate data? Thank you.

Hello,I want to create simple mesh trees from Point Cloud (LIDAR) in FME. And the closest thing I came to was with the "PointCloudSurfaceBuilder" transformer.Can anybody help me with this, please. The file is the way I want the final trees look like (it seems like it is about 8 piece of pentagon polygons for each tree).And the file is the closest I came in FME.I attach the FME-Workbench file and the input LAS file (and it looks like this ).Best regards,Jonas

Hello all, Because of this Microsoft notice on e.o.l. for .NET Framework 4.5/6/7 I got questioned of the dependencies of FME Server. A quick search both on the Safe documentation, as on the interweb did not yield a satisfying answer, so I post it here... On which Microsoft .NET components and versions thereof does FME Server depend? Will upgrading to .NET Framework 4.8 break an FME installation? Client asks for an official statement from us, or from Safe Software that upgrading the .NET framework won't cause any issues. [edit]: It involves both FME Server version 2021.1.1 and 2018.1  Kind regards, Martin p.s. I checked the Windows-FME-servers I have access to, and they all have .NET framework 4.8 installed, so I do have my gut-feelings on this subject. Also I would be more than astonished to hear Safe developing newer releases of their product using outdated Microsoft frameworks.Only those things won't convince the client involved.

I have a dataset that has multiple records, each with a different types. Each of those types could have any number of records from 1 record to 5000+ records.  How can I write these records to individual files based on a limit of 50 records per file with no more than 10 types? For example: File 1 would consist of:Type 1 = 10 Records,Type 2 = 37 RecordsType 3 = 13 Records File 2 would consist of:Type 3 = 50 Records File 3 would consist of:Type 3 = 5 recordsType 4 = 45 records and so on... and so on... I've tried groupers, and I have tried building lists, I've also tried the modulocounter, but I can't seem to find a way to build this criteria with any of those. Any help is much appreciated! Thank you! I've built a sample set of data that could be used to do testing. My final output needs to be no more than 50 records per file with no more than 10 Circuit ID's in each file. I would like my automation to watch a directory. If there's a update, then the rest of the automation runs, but only during the night.I could use a directory watch trigger to run the automation immediately after a change, or use the schedule-trigger to run the automation during the night, but how can I combine those triggers?Thanks, Vera

I'll be the first to admit this may be a dumb newbie question, but I'm struggling! I have an input field that contains a file path like the following:q:\\staging\\incoming\\1930s\\WI\\Sauk\\1937\\Sauk_WI_WU_11_908_19370707.tifI need to construct a URL to the file as referenced in a URL, and dump it into another field:https://server.com/1930s/WI/Sauk/1937/Sauk_WI_WU_11_908_19370707.tif My conceptual approach has been to use string processing to replace q:\\staging\\incoming with https://server.com, and then replace backslashes with forward slashes. Well, you can see where this is going... the slashes and backslashes are wreaking havoc. For example, I've tried various combinations to escape the \\, like:@ReplaceString(@Value(inputpath),"/\\","/")... but I either get no results, or a syntax notice. Am I even in the ballpark?? I'd love some suggestions on how to approach this issue.  

@nielsgerrits​  I have a road shape file with numerous segments (links), all of which share the same road id. Now the user has provided me with csv data, claiming that this is the bad route from chainage 0.75 to chainage 5.1. In order to highlight the road, I must add another line geometry (a long line) on top of road features. The created line must overlay eactly on top of road. the created line begins at link 1 (0.75 chainage far)and extends to link 9 at a 5.1 chainage. How do I accomplish this with fme? I tried a lot of different things, but none worked. Actual line length and chainage length are two different metrics. We can take the proportionately dividing road length since chainage length is accurateWhat I mean is that if the real length of the line is 1.5 km and the start chainage and end chainage (attributes) difference is 1 km, then it becomes 100 m = 150 m in geom length. sample source shape file attachedand source shape ,desired output line, how it looks like( jpg files) 

Hello,I use FME to transform data in S-57 format (the native format of our databases) into more traditional formats, in particular shapefiles. The database export is therefore in S-57 format (extension .000), with the classes and attributes present for the ENCs, but this model is enriched with additional attributes and classes. This can be done by modifying the files s57attributes.csv, s57objectclasses.csv and s57expectedinput.csv in the directory $FME_HOME/s57 (Custom Object Classes File and Custom Attributes File). These files are also useful for correctly displaying additional attributes and classes in QGis (in the directory C:\\Program Files<QGIS>\\share\\gdal). I have the 2023 beta and authored a workspace that I would like to use in your latest official version (2022.2.5) which came out after. It looks like a number of updates that were in the beta are also in the official one. Before I try to open my beta workspace in 2022.2.5, I had a few questions: If the updated transformer versions match, should the prod version accept them?What is the best way to back up or document a workspace to use in an earlier version? Any insight is appreciated, and yes, I learned my lesson.

Hi, I published a workspace to the FME Server (2018) of my client that allows to import a specific sheet of an Excel file in Postgres.But when the input file has zero feature or when the specific sheet doesn't exists, the Workspace doesn't log any error and says that translation was successfull.Of course, we could open the Excel file to check the data but this workspace is running with automatic processes.Is there a way to log an error when there are no features in the input file or when the awaited feature type (Excel sheet) not exists ?Thanks for any help.

I am taking a feature reader (ESRI geodatabase) and putting a feature class through an attribute manager. The feature reader shows the guid fields correctly as guid.However, the attribute manager shows them guid fields as buffer.This is happening for all guid field. I've tried "reset table" and import from dataset in the attribute manager. I've also tried recreating the attribute manager. How can I fix the attribute types to be accuate?

I have a Data collected using Survey123 but sending data has issue and it was stored in android device only , so the format will be in sqlite database.. Hi all, I have a very simple requirement, find the closest location on a polygon to some points then move the points to that location, this has been achieved using the NeighborFinder and VertexCreator transformers. Further on in the workspace I need to use a PointOnAreaOverlayer to transfer the polygon attributes to the point layer (I realise that this can be done in the NeighborFinder step but for the sake of this post, lets assume this is not possible). The issue I am coming up against is that even though the new location of the point is determined by the NeighborFinder, in some cases the point and area are not considered to be overlapping by the PointOnAreaOverlayer. This is my very simple demonstration workspace:The initial features do not overlap:Once run through the workspace they appear to overlap:However, according to the PointOnAreaOverlayer, one of the points does not overlap:The point that does not overlap (according to the PointOnAreaOverlayer) is the southern most point (

In my setting i have a subtemplate that must to be an "object" and contain a lot off nested attributes that are "list".In the situation where only 1 attribute is populated, the final result is good (Topology1record.jpg screenshot) but when I have more attributes populated the result is an array and not an object (Topology2records.jpg screenshot). Hi,When I try to run a workspace on the FME server, I receive this error. On my machine, I have ArcMap and Pro installed with 64-bit background geoprocessing. I am also reading data from File Geodb using the Esri Geodatabase (File Geodb) readerArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1 has been upgraded to ArcGIS Enterprise 11.0, and I am running FME Desktop 2022.0.1.0 and FME Server 2022.0.0.2. It is unclear why I am getting this error. Is it because we have upgraded ArcGIS Enterprise and are using FME Desktop 2022.0.1.0?  Thank you,

i use transformer Testfilter to filter type of mutation. Ultimately, I want to know how many mutations there are per type. For that I use StatisticsCalculator.This works fine, except when no value comes from TestFilter. How do I get the process to continue and StatisticsCalculator returns a value of 0?

I have have a set of polygons (actually they are buffers of a point) and I want to buffer these again to leave a ring - just keeping the buffer outside the original polygon. I can do this easily in arc/arcpy by using the buffer type "OUTSIDE_ONLY". How can I get the same effect using FME? I have created the buffers but when I use the clipper to clip one out of the other it clips all the overlapping buffers (which is what I expected) but I can't seem to figure out how to get the result I would like. I feel like I need to split each of the the buffer datasets so that it does the clip on each pair of polygons separately but - I'm new-ish to FME so.... Can't seem to find anything to help online either. This is what I have - the attribute managers are just to fill in an attribute so I can put the two buffers back together in one layer and be able to identify which polygon is which type.This is what I would like to end up with:Not this:
