Hello,I have a DWG file with two layers. In the first one I have lines representing a nework of pipes. In the second one I have autoCAD text describing the pipes diameters. I would like to create a shape file representing the pipes with their diameter as an attribute. I linked a DWG reader containing the first layer to a SHP writer to create the shape file representing the network of pipe. How can I extract the text (diameter information) from the second layer of my DWG file and how can I link the diameter to the right pipe in the SHP file ?Thank you for your help,

I need to output an SQL script created with SQL Creator in a custom text file. The file is essentially a csv file but with '|' as the seperator, the header row prefixed with a 'H|' the rows of data prefixed with 'B|' and a footer containing F|<file_id>|<datetime_stamp>|<number_of_rows> creating a csv file using '|' is easy enough but I haven't found a way to do the prefixes or footer. I was looking at using XML Templater but not sure if I'm barking up the wrong tree. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I am converting an excel spreadsheet to an esri geodatabase feature class of points. Working well so far, except for one field of elevation values. There was no standard of input and the values are varied. For example:75 feet75 ft.75 ft75f75 MSL25 m / 75 fIf it weren't for the last example, which occurs too often to waste time updating manually, I'd just use a string replacer to extract just the numbers, but in that last example, I'd end up with 2575 instead of just 75. I'm guess that first I need to remove everything before and including the '/', and then can use a stringreplacer with regular expression '[0-9]+' . Also, I've gotten another spreadsheet of data in which "##m" occurs. Those rows would need to be converted to feet. Hoping this is solvable with transformers, as the data is not to be edited.

I have a custom transformer that caches API call results to a PostgreSQL table. It tries a DatabaseJoiner on the key, and if it finds a matching record, it passes the joined feature directly to the main Output port. Otherwise, it calls the API, passes the result to a SQLExecutor to INSERT it for joining on same key value on subsequent features passed to the transformer.Unfortunately, the DatabaseJoiner is unable to find records stored by the SQLExecutor for subsequent features during the same workspace execution. I've tried explicit COMMITs (with appropriate delimiter declaration) in the SQLExecutor (it says no transaction is in progress) and a 5-second-per-feature Decelerator after the SQLExecutor in case there is some kind of race condition between FME Workbench and PostgreSQL. No luck. I still get duplicate key violations because the failure of the DatabaseJoiner causes the same key to be sent to the API and storage attempted again via the SQLExecutor. I've even tried

Using 2018.0 I placed a logger in-line with a translation. Max messages to log is set to 999999, but it stops logging after 115 features.Why is that - and how do I get it to log all the translation info (looking for info on the 428'th item in this case)?

Please help, at a complete loose end. I have a process that's copying data from one SDE database to another. So far it's working almost okay. My main problem is a featureclass which uses multipoint geometry, and I'm dynamically setting the geometry on the writer (intended as this process will be a child workspace run against different datasources). The only way I could initially get it to work was to tell it to set the geometry based on the first feature, but I have one dataset that has 4-5 multipoint features towards the end of the dataset, so the process bombs out trying to put an aggregate into a simple feature type.

I'm trying to run a workbench on my MacOSx 10.13 using DateTimeNow function but I get this error :AttributeCreator: Failed to load timezone data. Please visit http://www.safe.com/supportAttributeCreator: Failed to evaluate expression '@DateTimeNow()'.  Result is set to null.It runs perfectly on Windows 7.Do you know what could cause that? I've check into my options and my time zone is defined.

Hi at all,at https://sentinel.esa.int/web/sentinel/missions/sentinel-2/data-products you may download Sentinel-2 tiling grid in kml format (Sentinel-2 tiling grid kml) (nearly 100 Mb). I tried to export it to SpatialLite and Shape polygons in order to work with inside a GIS more easily.But till now, I haven't success to export geometry Placemark (no polygon nor lines).By inspection them inside FME DATA Inspector, I see a complex structure --> IFMEAggregate made up by polygons and points. What I'm looking for!! But sure due to my illiteracy I can't find a manner to explode and extract and I just get or error on output or strange void features.Any hints?Best,fz

Anyone else having this issue? I open FME 2018.0 18295 32-bit and my stored database connections can't be loaded. When I open the FME Options/Database Connections, I get: "Error Retrieving Connections". The Translation log window is also missing. Thanks for your help in advance, I am creating composite content, stacking polygons together from different 'surfaces' then clipping. This works as expected but it is almost exponentially creating additional vertices. This is an issue and as a result I need to generalize the output. Unfortunately when I use the generalizer tool the output geometry reports lots of invalid outputs, mainly 2d self intersections. Does anyone have any suggestions to help.Many Thanks

Hi All,  I am building validation rules for 3D buildings. One of the rules I would like to test is to check that all the surfaces (walls, ground surfaces, roofs) are not crossing each other.  When I test this with dummy data, this works fine using the SpatialRelator. (Test to perform: Crosses) [I create dummy data by creating 2D-lines an extrude them (some of them with a constant extrusion height, some of them with and extrusion vector) so I get surface which intersect somewhere in 3D (and the intersection is a line) and the SpatialRelator detects my crossing objects. So this works fine.]  When I test the same with real data (and I know some of the surfaces do cross, the SpatialRelator doesn not detect the crossings.  I have the impression that the difference is the geometry type of my "surfaces". In my dummy data the Geometry is IFMECompositeSurface and contains a IFMEFace and an Appearance. (it is the extruder who changes the geometry-type from line into IFMECompositeSurfac

I have a repository inside of FME Server for a handful of users to access and run a couple of workbenches as needed. Is there a way to require them to input an email address prior to running the workbench so that they'll be notified of results when the workbench completes?  I can include an emailer transformer inside of the workbench and make their email address a required input, but I would prefer to utilize the FME Server notifications is possible

Hi Everyone,  I have been using FME for some time now and am now getting into little details. My question revolves around parsing out filenames and eliminating portions of them to create a new name. This is probably elementary to many of you.  I have a name like this:   2_038_1558_0001.ecw  In this case, the number after the last underscore "_" is always an incremented value. What I want is to always eliminate the last underscore and following number and extension and have the following result:  2_038_1558  The sequential number portion is not always 4 digits. Sometimes it is 2 or 3 or 5 (2_038_1558_0001.ecw,  2_038_1558_023.ecw, 2_038_1558_00012.ecw)  Any ideas of the which transformer to use and/or the code the place within it?  Thank you for any help .  

In much the same was as you can order the sequence of layers in a PDF, I'd like to do the same in a KML file. I'm not talking about the draw order though, I mean the appearance and sequence of layers. By default it appears to be alphabetic in order. So you'd get:RailRiversRoads...by default if you wrote them out to KML.But what if I wanted:RiversRoadsRailI don't want to put the layers into a KML folder and I don't want to change the featuretype name in any way. I thought it first setting kml_draw_order might be an option but that appears to relate to the render order on the map rather than the layer order in the 'Places' list.Is it possible? I've got a dataset with lots of columns and the contents of the ones I need to tackle contain many zeros (0) and lots of ones (1)... there are also lots of 'Yes' and 'No' values. I want 'selected' columns to be checked for the existence of a 0 and it should be replaced with a 'No', 1s need to be 'Yes'.The AttributeValueMapper will do this on 1 attribute, but I don't want 1 AttributeValueMapper per column.An AttributeManager allows me to set conditional values, but I don't want to have to create this conditional rule for every column, even with FME 2018 supporting copy\\paste, that's too much effort.I'm currently using 2 chained NullAttributeMappers, with one of them handling the 0 mapping to No and the other the 1 mapping to Yes.But what would you do? I'm looking for ideally a elegant single transformer solution and really an AttributeValueMapper that could work on more than just 1 column seems to be an 'Idea' I o

I'm creating a SQLite Tilecache via the WebMapTiler, with PNG blobs, and would like to use PNG Optimization. This seems to be available in the PNGRaster writer, but I'm not using the PNGraster writer, I'm using the SQLite writer. So, is there any way I can pull that piece of code or is there another transformer I could use to do the same job of PNG Optimization?

Hi All,     I've been tasked with optimising a workbench that's quite slow.     Basically I take in a very large DEM raster 2m granularity, and need to clip it against a vector dataset of 50m grid squares. The vector dataset then pulls the underlying raster data (RasterCellCoercer), and calculates statistics (StatisticsCalculator) using a group-by from the clipping.          The clipping part I've got down to about 30minutes.          The problem is the RasterCellCoercer. That part takes 15hrs! It creates about 300,000,000 points (yes, 300 million!) from the raster (there are about 4.5 Billion points in the source raster, so the other 4.2billion are no "noData" or were culled completely). I can't think of a way to get the number lower because that's how many the features require.          Any suggestions for a faster way to get the DEM values in a way that they can be grouped for a statisticsCalculator pass?     Would somehow trying to coerce it into a Poi

I have a workspace with a custom transformer that contains GeometryValidator transformer. The transformer should check fme_geometry for basic geometry checks. The workspace works fine in FME Desktop when is run locally. When the workspace is loaded onto FME Server I get the above error message in the logger. Before hitting that transformer the native coordinates of the feature are converted from WKT (the format which enters the workspace) before that transformer (the GeometryValidator) I have also other checks that prevent the process to proceed if the WKT is empty or the area is smaller than a certain threshold, for some reasons when I test it with smaller areas or empty strings the transformer is called and produces the above error. Also, I tried to disable the GeometryValidator transformer but I still get that error, when the data does not even pass by that transformer. If I remove the transformer from the workspace and I upload it to server then everything works fine but I would ne
