FME Form 2022 not able to read DGN V7/8 files

Hi @galigis​, I wasn't able to reproduce your error message in FME 2022.2. Would you be able to share your data? I can try reading it in to double check that it's not an issue with your data. If possible, it would also be helpful if you could share your workspace or a screenshot of your reader parameters so I can take a look.

Thanks @saraatsafe​ , Attached a simple dgn file for you to test. FME gives me an errors when trying to load it in 2022.2 while it works fine in 2021 for example.

Also below an example of the reader parameters, I've only changed the Group Element By to Scheme -Level names:

Hi @galigis​​, it seems to me that FME has trouble opening your DGN file in 2022.1 onwards, as I was able to read it in using FME 2022.0 and 2021.2. I didn't have any issues with another DGN file that I had on hand, so I suspect there's something up with your file, or perhaps something was implemented in 2022.1+ that doesn't mesh well with your file. I've filed a ticket (internal reference: FMEENGINE-80399) so one of our developers can further investigate.

Hi @galigis​, update on that ticket: this looks like this is a bug with one of our 3rd party libraries. We can share this with their developers so they can take a look, but we'll first need you to consent to us sharing your Dummy_DGN.dgn file with them. Please let me know!

Thanks for the update @saraatsafe​ , yes please share the dgn file for them to have a look. There must be a bug in the ME(R) 2022.2.5.0 (20230329 - Build 22795 - WIN64) version, so it would be good to know how to fix it. cheers
