FME desktop 2017 install on Ubuntu 17.10

I have downloaded the 'fme-desktop-2017_2017.1.1.1.17652_ubuntu.16.04_amd64.deb' installer and attempted installation but this fails. I have followed the suggestions in the post here:

https://knowledge.safe.com/questions/33517/fme-on-ubuntu-1604-install.html

python3.6.3 is currently installed.

but error indicating broken dependencies:-

libpng12-0 (>= 1.2.13-4), libpython3.5 (>= 3.5.0~b1), libqt5xmlpatterns5 (>= 5.0.2), libtcmalloc-minimal4, python3-matplotlib (>= 1.2.0), python3-numpy (>= 1.8.0)

suggestion was 'sudo apt --fix-broken install' but this only offers to remove 'fme-desktop-2017

Any ideas welcome. It seems the installer is looking for python3.5 so will it only install with 3.5?

Hi @pshapley, I think that installer is intended for Ubuntu 16.04. It doesn't look like FME is supported on Ubuntu 17.10 yet. https://www.safe.com/fme/fme-desktop/tech-specs/ 16.04 and 14.04 are the supported versions.

Note, typically, FME is supported on Ubuntu LTS versions. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases for reference.
