HI ALL,

ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO SET UP LAYER COLOR IN FME?I HAVE CAD DRAWING THAT CONSIST OF CERTAIN LAYERS. I WANT TO USE FME TO SET SAME COLOR SO THAT I CAN EASY DISTINGUISH EVERY LAYER IN ARCGIS. ANY FME SPECIALIST,PLEASE HELP ME..WHAT KIND OF TRANSFORMER THAT I SHOULD USE?

THANKS..

I don't think you can, unless you are writing to SDE. Neither Geodatabase nor Shape store color information.

You could always write the value of the format attribute fme_color to a user attribute in the output. That way you would have a record of it in your data and could maybe use that to color features in ArcGIS?

Means that the color information only stored in attribute table in GIS?not apply at feature layer?..ok i'm understand..Actually i have work at standardization department, so if i want to standardize color in term of CAD and GIS layer, i must set it for two times in GIS and CAD?
Yes.

If you wish to standardise the colours between CAD and ArcGIS (Shape and GeoDatabase) layers, you will unfortunately need to set the colours twice.
