FME 2026.3 for Form and Flow was released earlier this week and offers brand new features designed to improve your workflows! Today we’ll be taking a look at one of our favourite features, OAuth For Outbound Email in FME Flow: Microsoft Exchange Online.

OAuth for Outbound Email in FME Flow: Microsoft Exchange Online
Microsoft is retiring the password grant (ROPC) process that FME Flow has used for Exchange Online. Once it is fully retired on your tenant, Flow simply stops being able to send email — which takes out automation notifications, job failure alerts and, most painfully, password reset emails. If your organisation has already disabled basic authentication, you may be there today.
FME Flow 2026.3 adds the OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code flow with PKCE for Microsoft Exchange Online. An administrator signs in once through Microsoft's consent screen, and Flow receives tokens it can refresh silently from then on. No password is ever entered, and none is stored.
