FME workbench stopped working with error "could not retrive metadata for layer .... error code from the server was '500'.

Hi, I have a workbench setup, it reads a database connection, does some transformations, then write to our Enterprise GIS Portal. The writer is setup to overwrite/truncate the feature layer data, and it has been running successfully for months, but I have now noticed it is failing. I had some issues getting the workbench setup, I think I had some forums post about it as we had to rename some fields and use replace some strings as some characters were causing problems. But all them got sorted and it was working fine. The error message is:ArcGIS Portal Feature Service Writer: Could not retrieve metadata for layer/table ID 0 of Feature Service at 'https://maps.middlesbrough.gov.uk/server/rest/services/Hosted/ReportIT_Firmstep/FeatureServer'. The error code from the server was '500' and the message was: 'Connection to IT-ARCGIS-ENT.MBRODOM.NET:9876 refused. Check that the hostname and port are correct and that the postmaster is accepting TCP/IP connections.'I thought it may be a firewall

I'm trying to write hierarchical XFM-elements, one parent with all the xml data, and two graphical child elements (a point and a text). This is the warning I get on every parent element:DESIGN WRITER: Feature found with igds_type of 'igds_xfmstore', that has unsupported 'Topology' information. Skipping XFM feature store element write Because of this, all parent elements are skipped.What is this 'Topology information'?

Does anyone have some experience with using the straight line Diagram transformer.

I am trying to create a pdf file using the straight line diagram. I have a data file with the Road reseals as lines and I would like to be able to show the distance or length of the Reseal, the Year Applied, and stone size as a stacked straight line chart. This will then show the overlaps as well. Many years ago we used to do the very same thing on paper, in a book, by hand so we could see the surfaces applied to the roads over time. I am currently reviewing or trying to, do some analysis and update what we had on paper into a modern approach. I have watched the video of it being used here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tPhZMSrnYw at the end of the webinar but I am struggling to sort it out given it was a very short session at the end. I would like some more specifics or how to on setting it up, or even a sample workspace may be the one from the demo would be a good example to follow. Hello all, I'm a newbie to the Azure Storage Connector and stuck at authentication. The file storage connector errors. The Hub readme link for authorizing access to my account goes to REST API documentation, not very helpful, I need to know what to do in the Azure portal console to make things work. IFCPROPERTYSINGLEVALUE attribute problems ifc

Hello, I try to read the attribute"IFCPROPERTYSINGLEVALUE" with FME. Unfortunately this does not work,in the "list builder" I can see the attribute "IdentityData.Assembly Code" only it is empty. While in the data with GlobalId"0q2mDI5en2pRRKYDPxu88G" it does have an attribute. How can I make this data visible withina workbench so that it can be filtered. I added the .ifc as a text file, thereis already some described on the forum of how to read the"IFCPROPERTYSINGLEVALUE" only I didnt get it working.

How to write outputs with different formats (CSAR, XML, GML) (with a different extension) to one Zip file ?

I want to write a CSAR raster, metadata (.XML) and an additional layer (.GML) to one zipped file. If I add folder.zip to the path the first files are being overwritten and dataset fanout does seem like a way to split an existing output into multiple file extension to be zipped. Both options are not giving the desired result.

Module 'acad/ACAD' is unavailable for use with this FME edition

I have created a workflow in FME desktop on my mac and want to run this job on the FME server. As I am using mac, I am running the Docker build of the FME server. When executing the same job on the server I get this error message "Module 'acad/ACAD' is unavailable for use with this FME edition". Looking at similar issues I suspected that the module was not supported for Linux (Docker container), however this was not the case. I have tried running different version of the FME server (22715 and 2263), this does not affect the result, still the same error message. Any idea of what is causing the problem? Could this problem be avoided if using Windows OS and the modules made for Windows?

Hi! I have two layers of polygons and would like to aggregate all polygons in one layer that falls within a certain distance of polygons in the other layer. Is this possible in FME? Grateful for any help!

In the screenshot attached: I want to aggregate all the green polygons (they are within 2 meters of a building) that belongs to one building into a single polygon.

Is FME 2022.1.x still supporting custom formats? Can someone share the documentation to create and consuming a custom format in FME 2022.1.x. Custom format that I have created in FME 2022.1, published user parameters not getting exposed. Means, published user parameters of the custom format are not available to set in the consuming (as Workspace Resources) workspace.

How to use Transformer BRepSolidBoundaryCreator.Beta for composite surface geometries?

Hi all,I have roof shapes which I transform to fme_composite_surface (GeometryCoercer). Now I will use BRepSolidBoundaryCreator.Beta to create ground and walls. It works for a single building. Unfortunatley if I use a bigger area the transformer stopped by saying:BRepSolidBoundaryCreator.Beta_2_DonutBuilder_<Rejected> (TeeFactory): BRepSolidBoundaryCreator.Beta_2_DonutBuilder_<Rejected>: Termination Message: 'Element BRepSolidBoundaryCreator.Beta_DonutBuilder gibt ein <Rejected>-Feature aus. Transformer BREPSolidBoundaryCreator.Beta creates wrong walls

Hi all, we are using the transformer BRepSolidBoundaryCreator.Beta to create buildings based on 3D roof shapes. For most of the buildings it works fine but we found some buildings with strange results. For example:We have this roof shape as input: The roof polygons have adjacent roof polygons that directly connect (lower left corner). Because of this we have 5 nodes First step is to create faces so we can use it later for the transformer.Result roof shape after creating faces:We have 3 Faces. After using the BRepSolidBoundaryCreator.Beta we have this result:The result of the walls are not correct. We have duplicate wall surface. The transformer should take the roof polygon (input) an should create a vertical sidewall surface that bridges between the boundaries of the planar surface and the source surface. Why does it turn multiple wall surfaces? Is it because we have three faces? Is there a way to create only the outer wall? Or do I have to manipulate the input polygon that I only have

Is there a method to read the data from ArcGis to Fme desktop

Could I read the data from arc Gis with Fme desktop professional?

FME Server cannot connect to Oracle SDE --- Cannot connect to database client software failed to load. Be sure client software is installed and configure correctly. Oracle client is installed but still getting this error.

The workbench connects and runs on FME desktop using same sde connection. Any help resolving this error would be appreciated! Thanks!

What are resource requirements for docker components of FME Server?

Hi, I'm using containerised FME Server 2021.0.3 deployed by helm charts to the Kubernetes cluster. UI of FME Server is often slow in performance, for example, "Jobs -> Running, Workspaces or Files & Connections" subpages are loading slow (10s or more). My resources for FME Server components are set like that without limits:resources: core: requests: memory: 4Gi cpu: 2000m web: requests: memory: 1Gi cpu: 500m limits: memory: cpu: queue: requests: memory: 128Mi cpu: 300m websocket: requests: memory: 512Mi cpu: 400m(...) engines:(...) resources: requests: memory: 4Gi cpu: 800mAdditional info:I have an external PostgreSQL 12.9 database with resources: 1CPU, and 4GB RAM for this FME ServerI have an external NFS where I keep all /data/fmeserverdata files mounted to containers as volumes (NFS read/write speed -> 91.8 MB/s) What can I do to increase UI performance? Which XML Transformer should I use?

Sorry, I'm new to FME and don't know which transformer to use. I am working on an FME project that is currently getting an XML response using an HTTPCaller. The Output of the HTTPCaller has many "attributes" and then the Output is passed to an XML Fragmenter. The XML Fragmenter output is the same but has one new attribute pulled from the XML response. It then is passed to an XMLQueryExtractor which then adds another attribute. I need to get the value of a tag and I'm wondering if I should add an XML Flattener or Fragmenter or perform this in the XML Query Extractor or some other transformer.an example of what I need is the value in <sub3> in the following XML example and save it to a variable for later use. <Root><sub1><sub2><sub3>value</sub3></sub2></sub1></root> Thank you

Since upgrading to Desktop 2022, my workspace no longer reads my portal feature service writers. I have ArcPro and ArcDesktop on the same computer as my FME Desktop license. Does anyone know what could be causing the connection loss?

Hello,I published a workbench on FME Server enabling version control.After having published I noticed that I am using a wrong number in the text. instead of -214 it should be -216.Can I change the text ? Or delete the version ? Thank you!

Best Practice for Updating a Feature class in ArcSDE with minimum truncate (empty table) time.

I am using Data Interoperability (Build 21302) from Pro 2.8.4 to frequently refresh tables in an ArcGIS Enterprise Geodatabase. The tables are registered and published to Portal. The client is using the data in web maps, apps and dashboards in ArcGIS Enterprise Portal and require specific web layers to have little or preferably no time where it's empty of data. Instead of using the Truncate and Append to Existing table in the ArcSDE Writer I am using the ChangeDetector to set all new features coming in as both "Inserted" (containing the latest data / timestamp) and "Deleted" (data from 5mins ago) then in the writer match by Unique ID. From testing this enables a "seemless" refresh with minimal time of the table appearing empty in Portal. Is this method at all stupid or precarious? If so, what is a better solution. Additionally is it risky to read in and write to the same table in the same workspace? Background Notes:One frequently refreshed table can
