Hi group.A workspace that worked previously is suddenly failing on certain data since the last run half a year ago.I'm running it in 2018.1, but originally it ran in 2016.1, so I tried to backport the workspace to 2017.1 and 2016.1 to see if that made any difference.I'm utilizing a small dataset of buffered counties, and stored the buffered and thinned and otherwise manipulated dataset in an FFS file for convinience and performance. This file works nicely in 2018.1 and 2017.1, but 2016.1 claims that it has a wrong header or something ??This error persisted even when I used 2016.1 to create a clone FFS from the original non-FFS dataset ?Can anyone shed any light on the pitfalls of using FFS as intermediate storage ?Cheers.

I have two things that I am trying to accomplish with the current feature/attributes that I have joined. For each row of data, I need to write out 5 new rows. Also, in the new rows, some of the column values are the column names of the input feature. New to FME and befuddled by the performance disparity of Oracle Non-Spatial reader over high-latency network links. Needless to say, I understand the benefits of having FME close to the data, but… I compared the performance of the Oracle Non-Spatial reader against a CSV export from Oracle SQL Developer of the same database view on various machines in various locations on our network. Could somebody help describe the process to expose the three attributes in my simple file sample following: {'items': [{'att1': 'abc',  'att2': 'xyz',  'att3': 123}, {'att1': 'cde',  'att2': 'tuv',  'att3': 456}]} Notice that 'items' holds all the attributes.  I have successfully setup a reader to intake the JSON, but now need to expose the attributes att1, att2, and att3. I looked at several transformers, but the parameters are somewhat foreign to me. Hi, I'm currently trying to do a itinerary with my HTTPCaller with the posibility to have 2 itinerary. You can see the the request url that I'm getting. The query string parameters have a parameter called "Choixroute" which is the route choosen, going from 0 to 1. When the "choixRoute" is at 0,the result is the road option 1 . But, when I change it to 1, it is still the road options 1 and not the option 2. Is it something that I have to change in my HTTPCaller or in JSONfragmenter?  Thank you in advance, Ian

UID and GID in FME Server engine docker is having 1363 and 1363 values. I would like to change it to 3001 and 3001 (I have servers with such ids prepared).I have tried to set up environment variables as it is done in FME Server Core docker image:            - name: FMESERVER_UID              value: '3001'            - name: FMESERVER_GID              value: '3001' But it's not working. The upgrade to FME Desktop 2021.0.3 Build 21326 was carried out yesterday morning (Desktop / Server)Issue 1 I have a workspace which used to work until the upgrade.Simply put, a downloaded CSV file is read then written into a truncated Postgis table.This table is responsible for the functioning of this site including its contents as FME generated. However when I checked the site this morning, the address lookup failed to work therefore no one could use the site. During investigation I realised that the table was empty. (Truncated but no data)  Took a closer look and saw the following: Features were read as line geom whereby the original CSV is read as point data. I am trying to do an update to a PostGres database based on whether or not the created key PID is present or not. If the created key PID is present for the row it updates the row with the new information if not it inserts it as new row. The problem is the test for the difference created a different stream and it won't let me have two writers writing to the same table. The table name gets a 00 appended to it and can not be changed to be the same as the other stream. This seems like I am missing something simple as database operations go but why will FME not let me set two different writers to the same database table to satisfy the two possible condiditions?

Hi All, im trying to put a basemap under some vector linework output as a pdf.... Currently i use a http fetcher to get an esri basemap jpg, georeference image then use pdf formatter to try and combine the vector and raster.  it all works perfectly when sent to an inspector but when send to pdf i get nothing.... is there a simple workflow im missing somewhere ? similar to this https://docs.safe.com/fme/html/FME_Desktop_Documentation/FME_DataInspector/DataInspector/Background_Map.htm with the data inspectors basemap under my data. I just want a raster basemap underneath my outputs. I have read lots of posts around this but not found a solution that works for me.

Situation: I have geometry in a local coördinate system and through the affineWarper and vertex creator I can transform it and move to the actual location in the coördinate system I prefer. The problem is that the affine warper needs 4 points and I only have two points of reference placed in an old analogue drawing. Is there a simple way using FME to create these extra two points for me? So far I've georeferenced the analogue drawing twice to get the coordinates I need. This is quite time consuming and I have a feeling there should be an easier way.

HiI want to apply a transformation to all the files contained in the root folder "Vuelo84" (see attached image ). Those files are in their subfolders. I know how to load all of them in the reader, but I would like that the transformed files would be located in their own new subfolders, created by the FME itself at the same processing time. Is it possible? Thanks!

Hi list.I'm using FeatureWriter to write some data into a temporary ZIP file, that is being attached to an email.When I have the situation, where a single feature needs to be output in ESRI Shape format (inside the ZIP), it seems that the file isn't being written at all !?!?I've tried different file locations, different file names etc., nothing works.But if I add a Cloner with a value of 2, the file gets written as expected.What gives ?

Hi.I'm trying to utilize the "schema features" for dynamic schema definition output, but have a hard times grasping exactly how FME uses and don't use these schema features.FeatureReader has a special "<Schema>" output, but readers don't seem to have a similar mechanism, even though one can designate them in the dynamic output as "Schema Source". Does this mean that there is an underlying hidden connection between the readers and the writers ?Specifying "Schema From Schema Feature" does _not_ seem to enable the writer to read schema features, but requires the schema feature content to be superimposed upon all data features. Is this correct?I have several needs to be able to manipulate the schema before output, so understanding the functionality is important to me.One need is to "clean up" a schema defintion before output, especially if the input if WFS (FME adds all sorts of nonsense into the schema, e.g. "*.xsi_n

I am using Directory and filepath name read and then FilePropertyExtractor to build a table with all files of a specific file type. I then use time stamper to create the file name. subsequently the workspace is run a second time and the previous file (using sorter and sampler) is pulled into feature reader and then to the ChangeDetector.I can't seem to add a uuid because it recreates a new one each time i run it. So i can't use that as an update key.So right now i am using the unix path as an update key and i get all features as updated. (when there are no changes)If i set the check attr types and encodings to yes i get all of the original as deleted and all the revised as inserted.I just read that the order makes a big difference in the CDor. So i rearranged a bit and added sorters. Then I had to reformat my date modified attribute. and i think that might be it.I would take any suggestions anyone has to make this better. HeyI have a question that I am awkward with not much time.I have entities after an aggregator, I need to pull out the entity with the maximum Z point.For example here in the screenshot: Between rows 1 and 2, which is the same manholenum, I need to pull out row 2, because it is higher.And so on, between rows 3 and 4, you need to pull out the 4.There is no legality, because the manhole will be different later, or as in line 10, there will be only one.Would appreciate help!Thanks!

Hello. I have textured CityGML files that I want to reproject. When I use EsriReprojector transformer, the result is successful, however, the written CityGML files lost textures. Appearance parts completely lost in my output files. How can I keep texture?

When I receive emailed server error notifications they are formatted like Job 334: http://SERVERNAME:443/fmeserver/#/job/334/summary rather than the proper SSL and fully qualified configuration. Once I change the URL to Job 334: http://SERVERNAME.FQDN.com:443/fmeserver/#/job/334/summary it resolves properly and I can access the log. My question is, where do I change this setting permanently? All of the URL's in System configuration are set correctly. Is it a configuration file setting? If so, can someone point me to the correct file to modify?

Hi list.I'm attempting to use a FeatureWriter to write som ESRI Shape files, wanting to utilize the schema features from the (WFS) input (read with FeatureReader) to enable dynamic schema based output.I have selected "Schema from schema features" for source and "fme_feature_type_name" for definition name. And both schema and data features arrive at the same port in FeatureWriter.However, the workspace fails immidiately when FeatureWriter receives the first schema feature, and long before any data features arrive.Why does FeatureWriter fail when receiving a single schema feature? I would have expected it to just keep it (them) until any data features arrive ?Is dynamic schema definition driven output at all possible with FeatureWriter ?Any help is appreciated.

Hey,I have two shapefiles - one is a line shapefile with power lines (blue in Screenshot) and one is a point shapefile with power poles (red in Screenshot). I want to reduce the power poles by only symbolizing the power poles, where the power line changes the direction by more than 2 degree. In other words: I only want to symbolize the power poles, where the power lines change the direction by more than 2 degree. Can you help me how I can achieve this and with which transformers?  Would be great if somebody knows how to achieve this! :)Cheers!
