See logfile for more information" error when attmpting to connect to feature services through our portal. We are using "SecureAuth - SAML".

My question is, is this likely an FME issue or an issue with our Portal auth? I cant find much that relates to this exact auth method with secure auth.

I am using FME desktop 2018.1. have no issues with authentication to our portal through IE or Chrome browsers.

Hi @cskeating,

Unfortunately, SAML is currently not supported for the Esri Portal reader/writer. As mentioned here, SAML is sort of case by case for each format so it is only in for SharePoint at the moment.

A couple of enhancement requests have already been filed for this (FMEENGINE-57311/FMEENGINE-40402). Additionally, another user has suggested this on our ideas page.. it would be great if you can upvote it to help move it along: Single Sign on for Portal for ArcGIS

Does anyone know if there are any updates on SAML reader and writer auth?

Is there any news on this yet?

I just chatted with them an hour ago on this. Previously they have told me *maybe* later this year, but probably 2020. Hope that helps
