Hello everyone,

I created a workspace app that is now used by my colleagues.

In my script I have a geom parameter. In the workspace app the user uses the map tthen o populate the value for the geom parameter.
My colleagues asked whether it's possible for the search to be limited to a certain area (Netherlands or even Utrecht ) One colleague made a typo and ended up in Latin-America. In order to minimize such mistakes it would be nice to limit the searches to certain areas and I was wondering whether that would be possible.

Hi Joy,

Thank you for your question. There is no way to do this for everyone as the workspace app author because of the way we hit the Nominatim API, which is what we use to get the results.

A workaround is for users to add “&countryparameters=nl” in the search bar after their keyword(s), which will limit results to the Netherlands. Example: “park oog in al&countrycodes=nl” in the searchbar.

I have submitted an idea on your behalf to make limiting search results easier. Please consider upvoting it with your colleagues.

An additional thing I'd like to point out regarding the standard Geometry parameter: you can set the initial view bounds, but there's nothing stopping the user from selecting something that's on the other side of the world. It would be nice if a limit could be included so we don't have to add a whole lot of error handling ourselves.

And in 2024.2 the map is too small.
