hello,

i have a strange request and i am thinking if FME can help me in anyway,

we have walked down a railway track and taking a video (360) allowing us to see the condition of assets eg a signal box, i have also got a simple ployline in LL84 showing the path.

the request i have is when someone clicks on a point on the line they will get the video related to that area. could FME server crop the video?

can FME be used to scale the video eg the start of the video is the start point of the line and the end of the video is the end point of the line?

i know FME is not a video editing tool, but any help or ideas would be much appreciated

thanks

I would integrate towards Handbrake through the command line (Open Source video editing tool) - https://handbrake.fr/. Command line options here: https://trac.handbrake.fr/wiki/CLIGuide - and have a look at the --start-at and --stop-at parameters.

I'm interested in this application from the perspective of UAV collected video and how to sync a line or point feature with video.... ArcGIS FMV is our current solution to view videos but it does not necessarily do the stripping. Check LineVision and see if they have a solution for your application @fungry21.

I would almost break it apart and start with a video start and end coordinates AND timestamp. Get the geometry into meaningful segments that you can tie clips or still frames TIMES to. Then go into something like handbrake to pull the video clips/stills for that specific time?
