Tell us more about what you do and how you use FME?
I primarily work with CityGML data — things like adding attributes to buildings, fixing geometries, and handling raster tasks such as filtering, clipping, and mosaicking.
Why did you join the FME Community?
I joined the FME Community to find answers when I wasn't sure how to tackle certain tasks. My favourite archangels are
What tips do you have for users on how to get the most out of the FME Community?
Daily following and using filters to get their point of interests.
Tell us about some of the exciting use cases you've built using FME.
I divided CityGML buildings into floors and then into individual units. Each unit has a unique ID from the city's utility services, so my models provided very well-matched attributes for every flat. From there, it became possible to run 3D scene analyses and get results down to the individual unit level — it was impressive work!
What's one of your favourite tips or tricks for using FME?
Connecting the Feature Inspector to the Rejected port and re-running the workspace is a game-changer — especially for the FeatureMerger. Sometimes using "Purge Temporary Files" works really well too!
If you were stranded on an island and could only bring three things with you, what would they be?
