I have a SDE reader and trying to convert to MBTiles format. I'm using MBTiles Vector Tiles writer. But quite not sure about the various parameters like zoom levels, Tile set metadata that need to set.

For instance, for zoom levels - There are pre-defined 0 - 22 Zoom levels. What would be the zoom level like for state, county, zip code? And is there any significance for the metadata fields?

Thanks,

So Zoom 0 is the entire earth -180 -90, 180 90 degrees.

Every zoom level all tiles are split into 4 so all numbers are divided by 2.

So zoom 1 is 180 by 90 degrees. Zoom 2 is 90 by 45 degrees...

The Netherlands is a country and is about one tile on zoom 5 or 6. But that's not true for Russia (Zoom 1 or 2) or Luxembourg (8 i guess). And a country of Monaco would be at a even higher zoom level (probably 10).

And if you want to map your car Zoom 22 is the a good option. Or 21 if your car is pretty big.
