Assuming you're on Windows, have you tried setting which screen is the main display in Control Panel > Display?
This trick have helped me alot when moving from dual-screen to single screen on my laptop. Easy to learn, and very usefull!

In Windows 7 and newer, there is a much faster way to recover lost windows than the HowToGeek explanation.
Simply press Winkey+ Left Arrow (or Right Arrow) multiple times, and the application will move from one side of the screen to the other, then to the next monitor, in sequence.
Depending on your remote software, you may need to rebind your client Winkey to get this to work, so I suppose it isn't necessarily better.
I should mention that I am using a Mac at home to connect to a Windows machine at the office. So windows specific solutions won't work on my home computer.
I'm going to try and change the position of the visualizer window to my 1st screen at work and see if that works at home.
Thanks for the tips.
