The order the output layers appear in the “FME Data Inspector,

I couldn’t figure out if there is a way to control the order the output layers appear in the “FME Data Inspector form the workbench?

For example, in the workbench below, I wanted to have the “text” layer to be on top of all other layers.

Is that possible?

Thank you

Best

The only way I know is to give layer names in lexicographical order.

What version are you using? In my FME 2014 SP2 I can, without any problems, move the layers in the Inspector up and down.

Alternatively, you could write the data out at first, and then reload it in the Inspector (second button from the left "Add a dataset..." But I don't think that is necessary.

Kind regards

Thomas

Thank you Thomas for the help,

Sure, in the “FME Data Inspector” one can move layers up and down. What I meant is if it is possible to DECIDE the order of these layers form the workbench so that they appear in the “FME Data Inspector” the way we prefer.

For example, the “text” layer should appear on top of all layers without the need to do this manually in the “FME Data Inspector” but to be set from the workbench.

Is that possible?

The only way to do that, without dragging the layers, is to time the porces.

U want a inspection layer to appear prior to a inspection layer wich has the first one as input.

If u want it to appear above the other, you should have the inspector at a later stage in the proces.

But often this means restructuring a workbench....just to do inspection? i would advise against this.

In your example all but one of the text are available at the level of the other layers.

I assume you are looking for 4 wich are out ot the scope of your testfilter? ;)

Many thanks Takashi and Gio for the help,

I go for switching the name of the “text” to “1_text” to appear on top of all layers as they are ordered alphabetically as Takashi has already advice.
