Hello,

Thanks for the help.

We have installed FME 2017.1 32-bit version (only 32 bit works with Smallworld) in a Windows 2008. But when we try to open fmeworkbench.exe an error appears:

"The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the comand-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail"

Any idea about the problem?

Where can i see the application event log? or how can I use the comand-line sxstrace.exe tool?

Thanks so much

Regards

Sorry, already i know where open the event log...but i hav no idea about the problem

It looks like that message is related to the Visual C++ Runtimes, the problem of those is that various applications may supply various versions of those and they may sometimes conflict. I'm a bit weary to tell you whether or not to uninstall all of them so I hope @mark2atsafe can shed some light on this.

Well, I see that another user had the same error message and that has been fixed in the latest FME (2019.1.3.1, build 19643). So if possible, can you download and give this version a try? You can access it from: https://www.safe.com/support/downloads/

Other than that, I really don't know what to suggest off hand. As @redgeographics says, it's likely to be a conflict with another item of software, though I don't know which one. The best thing you can do is file a support case with us and have one of our experts investigate the issue in depth. Please contact us at safe.com/support and mention the error message, version of FME, and operating system.

Apologies for the inconvenience this must be causing you.
