pen width vector to raster

I am trying to convert a file from vector data to raster. All works as expected but i need to be able to set the pen width and the colour for a polyline depending on the attribute value.

you might want to look at the MapnikRasterizer, it has a lot of options for making pretty rasters out of vectors.
