Hello dear FME comunity,

My company is making databases to government facilities.

We are gathering data from the field and digitizing it in AutoCAD.

the water and sewage line attributes are in the middle of the line in an attribute block and the accessories are in attribute blocks.

My wish is to get an FME module that I can work with that will give me the option to take the dwg data and transfer it to a shape file.

the module needs to be flexible enough that if I wish to change the names of the attributes or their types on either side of the module it will be possible.

The module should also have the option to check geometry and data validation, and to make a report showing where the problem is.

Depending on your location you should look for a certified FME partner.

You can find all partners here: Partner Locator

If you are in the US, you can find our info here: Spatial Business Systems

As @erik_jan says, there are multiple partners around the world. The best would be to pick a partner who is familiar with your type of data (water/sewage) or is familiar with your format of data (AutoCAD). Or pick a partner who is local to your area, so that you can visit them in person if necessary.

If you wanted to try and do this project yourself, then this article explains the resources available to you and the risks involved.

Since your workflow needs to be flexible and return a data validation report, I definitely recommend contacting one of our partners. If you are completely new to FME it would be a steep learning curve to produce a project of that type.

I hope this is helpful.
