Hi,

A customer of mine would like to know if it is possible to have 2 floating licence files on the same server. By the way, these are two sister companies. They are using the same server but must use their own floating licence.

I read this post :

https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/22776/fme-server-licensing-walk-through.html

It seems to be possible. I guess i'd have to declare a second FlexLM service, but How can I be sure that users from company 1 will use its own licence and not Company 2's licence ? Could I use this post :

https://docs.safe.com/fme/html/FME_Desktop_Documentation/FME_Desktop_Admin_Guide/FMEInstallation/Restricting_Licenses_to_Users_or_Groups.htm

to restrict licence 1 to company 1 and licence 2 for company 2 ?

Thanks for your help

Hi @patoche94,

You should be able to specify the port number for each FlexLM application. On a side note, as of 2016 only the FME Floating Licence Server not FME Server currently use FlexLM.
