Here is the sort of thing I am seeing in the job log:

Note that I am creating the workspace in FME 2016 and running it from FME Server 2015. Does that matter?

Ahh, yes. Sorry to say that workspaces created in a newer version of FME will most likely not work on an older version of FME Server. For sure we can't support this case.

In general, you will be okay with an upgrade within the same major version. For example, FME Desktop 2016.1 and FME Server 2016.0.

Definitely FME Desktop 2016.0 and FME Server 2015.0 is likely to have problems and is not supported.
