Question

Issue reading Numerics & Decimals from Red Shift

Has anyone has success reading in either numeric or decimal data types from Red Shift?

I am using 2018.0, and after successfully connecting to the Red Shift database, I cannot see any fields that have a numeric or decimal data type.

I can see double precision and float types successfully.

Hi @elhastino1, sounds like we need to test this in house. I suspect that there may be a problem with the format. We will update this thread with what we find. I really appreciate you bringing this information to our attention!

Hi @elhastino1, we have reproduced the problem. I have filed a PR with Dev Team and they are currently looking into it. I will notify you once the support is added.

Thanks team,

I have no particular urgency on this as the Red Shift team have been able to change data types for me without any issues.

@elhastino1, I have great news our Dev Team has added support for Numeric data types to Amazon RedShift to FME 2018.1.

We have also added support for timestampz data type with 2019.0 beta
