Hi,

 

I am trying to get CAD data into Smallworld GIS. I did get one dataset in, one layer from the Cad drawing into Smallworld. I tried it with another layer from CAD file and I got the message "insert operation failed" which resulted no data being inserted into Smallworld GIS. I am able to see all data in Universal Viewer so I am thinking that there must be something wrong with the writer. Is there anyone that can help me with this problem?

There are not many Smallworld users in this community, but possibly a more deatiled description (logifle text) might be helpfull.

This is one example I am getting. This info repeats for every object I am trying to write into Smallworld. I am not sure if this will help or not.

The catalogue entry though is definitly available in the alternative i'm trying to wirite in.

 

Possible solution (worked for me): It seems that Catalogue entries must be available in the top-Alternative and not only in the alternative you try to write in.

Solved it!

  1. Make sure all required attributes are populated in your source GDB, SHAPE GIS database
  2. Make sure the Smallworld catalogue values are relevant based on your attribute combinations
  3. Use the Counter Transformer to count objects coming through. Set the following:
    1. Count Start :1
    2. Count Scope: Global
    3. Count Domain: counter
    4. Output Attribute Names:
      1. Count: _count
      2. Group ID: <blank>
  4. Aggregator Transformer: Set the following:
    1. Group By: _count
    2. Complete Groups: When All Features Received
    3. Aggregation Mode: Merge Incoming Attributes
    4. check box Generate List:
      1. List Name: sworld_geometry
      2. Add To List: All Attributes
    5. Aggregate Type: Homogeneous Collection if Possible
    6. Geometry Name Attribute: sworld_name
