Hi guys,

We have a problem. We have a CAD file and we need the original color to be displayed automatically in ArcGIS. We are able to map the CAD color index to RGB values. Do you have an idea? Can you help us?

Hi @laurammg

Did you try to expose the format attribute autocad_color from CAD file?

Thanks,

Danilo

Hi @laurammg

I don't know your specific needs. If you just display the data without having to edit it, then as an alternative, you can directly add data in ArcGIS and select the DWG file. In this way, the color of DWG can be faithfully displayed.

With this method, you don't need to convert the DWG, and if you save the MXD, even if your DWG changes, you can see the latest DWG information in ArcGIS when you open MXD again.
