How to convert 3D CAD solids to shapefile

I'm new to FME and I need to convert a 3D as-built model in CAD format to shapefile. The as-built model contain 3D solids representing pipelines and cylinders. Any help pointing me to the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @olivarrer - there are a few good Cad/Bim to GIS webinars available which should help. Also at the bottom I've linked one which talks about working with 3D in FME. I would start with the first two. I think they will be the most applicable to you here.

Here's one which focuses on 3D which has some good info: https://www.safe.com/webinars/3d-fme/

Hi @MattAtSafe, I appreciate these. I'll go through these and hopefully I'll find what I was looking for.

Thanks!
