Esri Legacy ArcSDE Raster Catalog creates standalone table (FME 2016.1)

I'm trying to load raster datasets into a Esri Raster Catalog. However when I use the writer'Esri Legacy ArcSDE Raster Catalog' it does not create a raster catalog but instead a standalone table. Is there another way to create a raster catalog by FME?

I'm not certain it was ever possible to create raster catalogs with FME (EDIT: other than using arcpy in e.g. a PythonCaller).

But on another note, RasterCatalogs have been deprecated in newer versions of ArcGIS, Esri recommend that you switch to Mosaic Datasets whenever possible.

@tmkoot @david_r

Apart from the fact that this forum and the knowledge center contains articles about this same question.

Examples of approaches etc.

So, the search function on this is probably very much underused.
