error when reprojecting data from mtm27-8 to wgs84.platecarree

Hello,

 

 

I would like to reproject data with X,Y coordinates in mtm27-8 to WGS84.Plate Carree.

I'm getting an error message saying that the reprojector could not create the reprojection engine.

I have the input file (essai.xlsx) as well as the workspace (xlsx2txt.fmw).

Any thoughts?

Hi @arthy I have had a look at your workspace and you should report this issue to Safe, I got the following BAD NEWS....after trying several options to reproject the point data.

BADNEWS: CS-MAP Reprojector: No transformation found to get from 'MTM27-8 (NAD27)' to 'WGS84.PlateCarree (WGS84)'. btw the Y value one of the PDQ 9 record is slighttly different to the rest..

I Had the following response from Safe:

---

In the Workbench menu, please pick Tools - FME Options - Coordinate Systems. In the Implicit Transformations, choose whether the NAD27 to NAD83 transformations should use Canada Only or USA Only grids.

In my case, I have to select Canada Only.

@arthy Haha! so that why they ask you to choose this setting when installing !, thx for sharing I doubt i'll ever use these coordinate systems in my life time but who knows!
