Creating writer for format: Autodesk AutoCAD Map 3D Object Data fails, missing files

I want to write data to an Autocad object data writer. It will not finish translation and the text "Object Data Reader: Failed to load object data handling module. No object data will be read" appears in de log file. There is a notification that says:

File C:\\Program Files\\FME\\metafile\\autocadCorrTemplate.fmi could not be opened

It happens in 2017.x and 2018.x. I have checked if the file exists in that folder. It doesn't. There are two other files that are called "autocadCorrTemplateDestination.fmi" and "autocadCorrTemplateSource.fmi".

Strang thing is that colleagues in various FME versions not having this problem. One has the same device I have.

Who knows why my workspace is fails?

FME version: 2018.1 64-bit smallworld license

Because the translation fails, I have turned on logging with debug.

Hi @fkluiters, The problem you are describing suggests that there might be some issue with the installation of FME. Here is a couple of things to try, hopefully they help solve the problem:

  1. Check your Environmental Variables, in PATH Variable, make sure to move FME install paths to the front/top of the list. Relaunch FME, and see if it makes any difference.
  2. If the above didn't help, I'd suggest download a new installer, and install FME again. This should hopefully get rid of the error.

@Xiaomeng, Thanks for your respons.

Neither solutions worked.

1 I moved the PATH Variable to the front of the list. It was at the back, but no difference.

2 I installed FME again, but that didn't solve the error.

You suggested that something is wrong with the installation. What could corrupt FME while installing?

Hi @fkluiters. We just had some luck reproducing the error you saw, here, internally. Our developer is working to narrow down the issue, and we'll keep you updated.
