Converting hatches to polygons generating weird polygon,

I wanted to convert thatches from AutoCAD to polygons. All worked fine except one polygon which is converted incorrectly (not as is in AutoCAD)

The CAD file can be found in the link below:

What might be the issue here?

Thank you

Best

Jamal

Hi Jamal,

According to inspection with the Data Inspector, the polygon seems to contain an unexpected vertex (0, 0). I don't know why AutoCAD doesn't draw it (might ignore invalid vertices automatically?), but the SpikeRemover can be used to remove it. And then, check again whether the repaired geometry is correct.

FME provides some transformers to validate and / or repair geometries. e.g. the GeometryValidator, SpikeRemover etc.. In general, when you encountered strange shapes, consider using them.

Many thanks Takashi for the help. The “SpikeRemover ” works fine.
