I have a Sybase database (i am noob with this DBMS) and would like to connect FME on it. The database is a .db file. I tried some connection types in FME like SQL and ODBC, but nothing is working. Do you know what kind of reader I would need to connect FME on my Sybase? I have an ESRI Edition.

BTW great world tour (Montréal) about FME2013 !!  My Zipster is protecting me now 🙂
Hi Philippe,

is this perhaps a Sybase Anywhere database? If so, you will probably have to install and configure the appropriate ODBC driver and then access the data in FME using the ODBC reader.

The ESRI edition of FME should suffice.

Hi David

Thank you for your reply.

Do you know what the connection string looks like for an ODBC on a server. My Sybase Anywhere ODBC is already created. I supposed that I'll put my connection string in the Reader's Database parameters? And in the Dataset I put nothing?

It is my first time with FME ODBC reader :S

Cheers!

Yes, I believe you use the name of the ODBC data source. The database name and dataset parameters are equivalent I think, so if you fill it in one then the other will be set as well.
