I HAVE SOME PROBLEM ABOUT THE PROCESS TO TRANSFORM CAD FILES CONSIST OF DWG AND DXF FILE TO GIS..IS THERE HAVE ANY SOLUTION ON HOW TO GET SIMILAR CHARACTERISTICS AT LAYER NAME, COLOR, ATTRIBUTE AND TEXT (ANNOTATION) WHEN WE CONVERT FROM CAD TO GIS?IS ANYBODY KNOW HOW USING FME TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM?IF CAN PLEASE SHOW ME A DETAILS..THANKS...=)

that is a very general question with no single answer, but you could start with this recorded webinar video from Safe on the topic. It might clarify how FME works and what it can do for you.

I find the easiest way to go from CAD to GIS is to open the CAD file in the Universal Viewer and Save the data as...

 

 

Making sure you choose Layer Name in the parameters dialog when opening into the Viewer.
