Hi,

it may be a stupid question, but if you add a writer/reader/inspector in fme2018 to a transformer that is in a bookmark, he always puts it out of the bookmark. My model is very large and has a lot of bookmarks that run into each other so that is not so convenient. Is there a way around it?

Thx

Nathalie

Definitely not a stupid question because I was able to reproduce the same thing(?) by adding just about any transformer while inside a bookmark

Not very smooth...

Interestingly, the symptom disappeared after unchecking the "Draw Bookmarks with a filled background" option (FME 2018.0.0.1).

Good observation. I suspect Safe needs to work on their collision detection algorithm 😉

Hi Nathalie,

I don't think there is much you can do about it. My advice would be to space out your bookmarks, so you have room to add new transformers and readers/writers. I usually leave an area the size of 2-3 transformers around a bookmark, and use junctions to streamline it all and avoid long lines. A handy tip: if a transformer is only a bit within a bookmark and you double click the edge of the bookmark, it adjust to include the transformer.
