I have a problem with the final challange in the basic training course 2017  When opening FinalChallenge.ffs i get an error message Is this a problem with incorrect password in the .ffs file or a problem that we can solve by ourself? Best/ Johan

This is in reference to a previous post. I have attached an example .dwg . A need has arisen to retrieve the PNEZD (point#, northing, easting, elevation, description) and all of the attributes of each cogo point in a Civil 3D drawing. We can have up to 17 attributes for each point. Is this do-able? If so we could automate the extraction of thousands of points from numerous drawings and life would be swell.

Hi FME'ers, Mark from Safe Software here. I am trying to create a single ini file from multiple database tables. Each table has two columns LCODE,LVALUE.Each table name should become the section heading and the items below them should contain the rows in the format LCODE=LVALUEThere should be a single empty line between the last row of a section and the next section headingThe ini file would look like this:[ARTWORK_MATERIAL] STEEL=PLAIN STEEL ALUMINIUM=UNPAINTED ALUMINIM[ARTWORK_TYPE] SCULPTURE=The artwork is a sculpture MOSAIC=The artwork is a mosaicand so on.Any help would be fantastic.CheersPaul

Hello,   Does anyone know if you can read a .hdr and associated .dat file in FME? This is hyperspectral imagery and I think it is an ENVI format.  I've tried the envi hdr reader but it fails - is it expecting a .bil file not .dat?  Thanks,   Owen

There's a workspace which is writing to Netezza. Included GENSTATS query as End sql in Netezza writer, but it gives the below error.ERROR: GENERATE STATISTICS cannot run inside a BEGIN/COMMIT block or stored procedure.Any thoughts or workaround is appreciated.

Hello everyone,  In my workspace I am using the CenterOfGravityReplaces and/or the CenterPointReplacer transformer but some of my points do not actually land on the line. Some do. How can I get it so that all of the midpoints land on the lines?    

I would like to create a workflow that can convert an HTML page to a pdf file. The image below is an example of what the web page looks like with a map, this map is purely an html file with a layout created in html and request GET links loaded by the website. Can this somehow be read in' as is' via FME and converted to pdf?I am currently using ColdFusion to render this page and save it as pdf .Unfortunately, this process is very intensive and I would like to put the last paret of this process to an FME server.

I'm almost too embarrassed to ask this question, because it seems like something that could be done with one or two statistic calculators, but I just can't find the right solution. Anyway, here is what I want to do:   I have a table with attribute 1 and attribute 2. I want to calculate the count of unique values of attribute 1 having the same attribute 2. Something like this:With statistics calculator I can count the number of all belonging to attribute 2, even all with the same attribute 1 but not only the distinct ones. I would very much appreciate any help with this very simple problem. Thank you!

running on FME server and Cloud, don't want to return any datasets. just want to return a simple true or false,is this possible in FME?

I have a shp of a tile grid and a folder than contains thousands of tif's. Each grid square in the shp has an attribute that contains the name of it's corresponding tif. How can I use this attribute to only select it's corresponding tif in the folder to either:1. copy the tif to a new folder (file copy writer)or2. use as input to the raster mosaickerI can concatenate a string to build up the full path of the tif in the folder. Do I pass this list to what?

I have tried to use xml transformers to update InfoPath forms. Does anyone has successfully use FME to fill out and update InfoPath forms?

Hello everybody!  I'm asking, if it is possible to use a Hadoop Distribution on FME Desktop's work. On one side, for storing input and output files but more importantly for sharing the cpu-usage of a translation into multiple Hadoop tasks on multiple Computers. I'm working on a project right now where the tranlation with 100.000 lines takes about 45 minutes. I can only imagine the time it will need on about 1.200.000.000 lines if I'm computing it on a single computer.  Thanks for reading!  PS So far I'm only working on FME Desktop, I watched some Youtube Videos about FME Server and could imagine that it could work with Hadoop quiet well.

Hi! I am using FME 2016 DateFormatter to process a field that some time will contain invalid text. I configured the DateFormatter to only process text in a specific format, but give the same text output to all other input formats.However, the DateFormatter will crash the FME for input of some specific input. The screenshot below shows the configuration I uses in DateFormatter and the error message. The input field value is "8 a.m." without quote. The other inputs such as "between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m." will also crash the FME execution. More details:if I input some other "nicer" random text such as "sldfjsldfj", the DateFormatter will successfully return "some text" as configured.if I change the Source Date Format configuration to "Auto-Detection", "some text" will also be returned.Attached is my test FME script.My guess is, DateFormatter is unfortunately tricked by some specific text when it attempt to parse the input.

Hi SafeI've been experimenting with the XSLTProcessor and transforming a XSL derived document to Word format. All the information comes across to the Word doc however the formatting of text (eg, font size, font color, font type), page margins, (table) column widths and some other document elements are not retained. Does the XSLTProcessor honor the formatting elements associated with XSL or in-line HTML formatting? - there's very little information associated with the XSLTProcessor 'Help'ThanksConch

Looking for some confirmation here:If I have set up a publication in FME Cloud to use the built-in SMTP email and send an email to it while it's paused it never gets delivered and thus the associated workspace never gets triggered, correct?

I have developed some python scripts to be run when translations are completed. I developed these in PythonWin. I've been pasting the text of these scripts into the "Shutdown Python Script" area under Workspace parameters. Can I call the scripts instead?

I know that there is currently a Bentley ProjectWise reader/writer in the works. Is there any plan to create a BlueCielo Meridian reader/writer as well? May be a difficult task, as many instances of Meridian are built on a proprietary object orient database called Hypertrieve. Maybe some clever user can come up with some custom transformers to access the Meridian api...

I'm a very new to FME. I'm trying to transform a geodatabase file with several items to a dwg file using the Clipper and shape file boundary. The clipping appears to be working correctly. However, each layer within the new dwg file has a copy of every object. Each layer has the same properties like color, linetype, etc.

I was recently putting together an example of calling a third party application and wrapping it up in a custom transformer and I thought I'd share a (fun) variation I came up with to demonstrate a point.Filtering the posts on the Knowledge Center is now a little more functional than it used to be and a few of you will have noticed that the filter options build the URL to a standard format, so of course you can get FME to do that for you too.
