Creating road network and repairing undershoots

I have a road map (grey shapes) and i want to make axis from it. I use the centerlinereplaces (red lines) but i must connect the centerline to the other centerline. (blue line)

I would use a combination of Extender (set to "about your average road width"), Snapper and Intersector to achieve this, although that will potentially leave you with overshoots. They would be short lines with only 1 connection to the rest of the network (to distinguish them from actual dead-end streets).

Personally I would be very weary to accept the results as-is though, I would always want to take a good look at it for QA purposes and do manual edits when necessary.

Hi

You can try the Snapper in "end point" snapping mode.

Hi,

If node is not present at the junctions then use LineOnLine Overlayer initially, such that node will be created then use snapper to snap the features.

As Hans (redgeographics) says, the Extender is the classic way to do this in FME, or the Snapper. The other tools to use would be the MRF cleaners - they are extra cost, but designed for this sort of challenge.
