We are attempting to create aerial data. Using FME Desktop 2014, is it possible to convert multiple TIFF files into a single ECW file?

Hi @phoolish_one,

Yes, you just need to use the Mosaicker transformer (or possibly RasterMosaicker, not sure when it was renamed) to mosaic the images together before the ECW writer.

Hi @daveatsafe,

Thank you for the reply. I am completely new to FME. Is there a detailed tutorial out there on how to actually perform the conversion process?

Not specifically for those two formats, but there are tutorials in general. "Getting Started with Rasters" would be a good place to begin and includes a Tiff to JPEG exercise.

However... I also created a small movie demo of TIFF to ECW as Dave describes it. You can find it here: https://www.screencast.com/t/4NK78DFk8

Hope this helps.
