Hello community,

Just installed the 2025.1 beta of FME Form  FME(R) 2025.1.0.0 (20250612 - Build 25591 - WIN64)].

I'm experiencing a new behaviour compared to all the previous versions: when I open a workbench it automatically fills all caches in, without me running the workbench. Luckily, it stops at the writers and does nor run them.

I could not find any information about this in the change log of the latest versions.

Is this on purpose or a bug? Is there any way to stop it? I do want the caches, but I want to decide which ones are created.

I get these notifications in the data preview while it is doing it and after it is done:

Sorry if this is repeated, I couldn't find it here.

Indeed, this is a brand new feature that Safe hasn’t officially released just yet. In my opinion it’s not quite ready for prime time (hence the beta...). For info, there are protections in place to avoid unintentional effects by the automatic cache generation, this applies to all functionality that risks altering data or state, e.g. writers, sql commands, http calls, connectors, etc.

I’m certain Safe will do an official introduction to this functionality later.

You may want to turn it off in the FME Options if you don’t find it useful.

Thanks for your reply. Couldn't find the option fast enough in FME Options, so I rolled back to a previous build.

Normally I don't use betas: The idea behind using 2025.1 beta insted of 2025.0.3 was that in 2025.1 beta the issue with Feature Readers not being able to read WFS (present in all 2025.0 releases) was fixed. I've gone back to 2024.2.5, with which I have no issues.
