Greenbeard was an expert user of raster data. He could easily mix and move and rotate data around to make something new.

Take this PNG dataset for example. In his metadata journal Greenbeard says:

• I tiled the image into 4 columns.
• I rotated the even-numbered columns by 180 degrees.
• I tiled the image into 2 rows.
• I rotated the even-numbered rows by 180 degrees.
• I repeated the above 3 more times, doubling the number of rows and columns each time.
• Note: I offset each rotated image, so that the rotation was around its centre point.
