Not just a reader for maptiler (like https://knowledge.safe.com/idea/49606/maptiler-wmts-reader.html) but a wmts reader for general use. i.e. PDOK or your own WMTS.

Was just looking for a way to load tiles from a WMTS-serves, to use it as a background for the MapnicRasterizer and put it in an Excel.

Hoping to see it soon....

Would be great to both have WMTS and WFS readers

Yes, definitely needed, please, as many commonly used map services only have WMTS offered now

A workaround for this (very roughly):

  • Creator to create your area of interest
  • ImageRasterizer to rasterize the area with (as long as you don't run in cache mode FME never really creates this raster)
  • WebMapTiler to create grid (output grid will have tile column, tile row and zoom level attributes)
  • BoundsExtractor to extract minx, miny, maxx, maxy
  • HttpCaller and build url like this https://<WMTSEndPoint>/@Value(_zoom_level)/@Value(_tile_column)/@Value(_tile_row)
  • RasterReplacer using _response_body attirbute
  • RasterGeoReferencer using extract minx, miny etc so that the output raster features are georeferenecd
